I would love to see color kits in the game! It's hard for tailors to supply all the color optionsand still make money in the process. All theother crafting classes has kits to which to modify/fix there products in one way or another.

Think of it the other way around. Would you buy a newvehical each week because you fancied a new colour? No, you'd save the 8-10k and get a set of paint kits. You paint the vehical because it's cheaper to do that than buy new ones. The same system with droids, you paint them because it's cheaper than buying a new one. It doesn't make sense with most clothes though. The cost of the colourisation kit would probably equal or cost more than a good number of items we can make.

You can't argue that skill taped / BE items make this invalid because they can't be seperated from the normal items, if you can colour one itemyou can colour everything. If you placed a tape into an item and now don't like the colour then it's only your fault, if you bought it that colour then again it's your fault. If you don't like an item either buy another, don't wear it or wear it anyway and leave it at that.

The idea of colourisation kits sounds good on paper (and forums) but it undermines one of the few distinguishing parts of the whole tailoring system, the economy and a whole branch of our skill tree that becomes almost obsolete.

Even if it's only Master Tailors who can recolour items it brings about another problem, tailoring is a very intensive crafting profession. You can't really make a schematic, churn out 1000 of 20 different items and just leave it at that. Clothing is a highly customised and personal thing, people want to be different, unique (Except for those that just want to wear black) just walk through Coronet and see how many different outfits you see. You can almost guarantee that those items were not factory produced and a tailor took the time to make them, select ormatch the right colour and then customise the name. Adding recolourisation would mean a great many more people contacting you (sometimes it can get too much) and those that refuse to recolour something will probably get some abuse.

It's a lot of work to add something that really isn't needed or wanted by the majority of the tailoring community.
