I told another crafter friend (a droid engineer) about this bug and he was shocked. He ran to his two shops (one on Corellia, one on Kadaara) and found that he was missing half a million worth of stuff too. Not sure if he's going to bother restocking either. *sigh* I guess this is what the game is being reduced too. May not be any crafters left soon.

I have told several people about this bug and everyone is shocked about it! Unless you happen to read the board here, you would have no idea that there is a problem! It has been posted about for days, and they have officially known about the problem since yesterday. There should be a big warning about the bug when you log in on the screen where the patch notes usually are.

There is a second thread on the development forum about this issue. Here's a link if you guys want to go take a look and chime in.

I too, have been warning everyone I know, I swear no one else knew about it and all were shocked, luckily I was able to save some other people's stuff. There really should bea warning when you log in. I did a mass mail warning on my friends list and told them all to pass it on. I suggest we all do the same, since SOE doesn't see fit to warn everyone and assumes everybody reads the boards.

I read about this bug on Tuesday afternoon. When I got home from work, I immediately logged in my master tailor and checked my vendors. OMG *sigh*. Over 300 items gone. Not to mention my factory crate vendor that had many crates of synth cloth, metal fastners and reinforced fiber panels.

All of it gone.

I tried explaining it to my guildmates, who really can't understand that it isn't the loss of the resources that makes this hurt.. it is the time invested in creating each piece of clothing. I have spent 10 hours in the past 2 days trying to restock my vendors. I'm back up to 300 something items, and have easily 300 more to go.

I have been really understanding of all the bugs in the game. I've done my best to not get discouraged and to look past them. This is one bug that hit me really hard, and is proving tough for me to get past. I'm pretty angry about the whole thing. The more I think about it the more I see that we crafters (who are a vital part of the SWG experience for every single player) really have gotten pounded into the ground. because of past and current bugs. *sigh*

It's not like they had to fix the bug right away. They should have let us know that it existed, or that the possibility of it existed.

So, has anyone contacted a CSR about the loss, and was anything done about it?

Yep, I've not even bothered to play my tailor character the past two days since learning of this bug. I rescued some items from poofing on the vendor but I willnot create any new items for the vendoruntil the bug is fixed and I'm somehow reimbersed. I think I'm down to around 100 items now from about 400. With close to 10 million in the bank though it doesn't matter a whole heck of a lot to me, but Bria may have just lost yet another elite crafter. I may close my shop soon, I needed a change anyway.

On the bright side, I've been playing my ranger character a lot and having fun with that. We left a big 'ol trail of dead animals and "bad guys" (no, wait, we're the bad guys, that should read "good guys" muahahaha) stretching from Narmle to Restuss yesterday on Rori. A lot of fun.

I received a reply to my ticket asking me to list each item I lost and the approximate value. This is after my ticket report stated that I cannot detail what I lost because it disappeared in such great chunks that I have no way of knowing what is missing, except to say that it is in the hundreds.

This leads me to believe that I am SOL unless I kept a detailed spreadsheet of every item I had on each of my 4 vendors.

Since I just recently discovered these forums, I'm very thankful that I found out about the bug, but unfortunately was not in time to save my inventory. I have lost over 500+ items from my shops and the majority of which were BE items as I specialize in that.

I am deeply saddened and disheartened by the cavalier attitude that SOE has towards this bug. I have spent alot of time and effort to gather resources and craft , so that my vendors are all fully stocked and to have everything go Poof with no warning is depressing. I am closing down one shop and will only be doing custom orders, but I don't even know if I will continue that. Last evening I had so many customers waiting for me to do their orders that it was getting ridiculous. I felt pressured to rush thru and all the waiting customers started getting quite impatient, finally I just had to log off. This morning I just don't even want to logon and face the countless email orders that await me, watch the last of my items dissapear, look at the unanswered ticket on this problem or deal with any of this. This is a game; it is supposed to be fun. Well with this last bug, I think its the final straw for me.

On an end note, I know alot of other shopkeepers who , unfortunately, did not know about this bug and have been forced to close up thier shops due to bankruptcy. Well done SOE !!!

Just an update in case folks haven't heard yet. Apparently a fix for the problem will go in on Friday Dec 5, and on Saturday they'll be trying to restore lost items!

This is a huge relief because it would have taken me weeks to redo all that work...

Heh, I thought I was the only one.

"Why yes, of *course* I have detailed files!"

Seriously, I have found it very useful to track sales in a spreadsheet. Nice for keeping track of the bottom line, as well as what's selling, what isn't, etc.

Well, I'm pretty happy that at least I supposidly won't be losing any *more* items. But as far as restored items, I'm not getting my hopes up. We'll see.

Lol, you gals crack me up. I could care less about selling statistics. All I do every day is have my merchant character make me a list of what sold so I know what to restock. That's it. pretty simple. That way my stock remains fairly constant. And generally every time I sit down to make clothing to restock, I make a few "new" items (or variations)that I've never stocked before, and add them in. Oh, and of course if some items keep hitting the stockroom over and over and over (especially when it was 7 days), the "destroy" button works well.

As far as bottom line, the bank account and cash numbers do just fine for that, lol. They grow daily, so no worries there.

I track sales in a spreadsheet (date, purchaser, location, item, color, price).. I started it back when it really mattered how much I sold each day, and now I keep it up out of habit. I do NOT, however, track inventory. I'd usually restock a category or two at a time, going down my pricelist and making whatever I didn't currently have for sale.

Back around 11/15 I did a big restocking because of the new 30-day listing "feature" (got up to 600 items total on two vendors), and my thought was to just remake what sold each day. Then RL cut my play timewayback for 10 days, the vendor bug ate some # of items, and I was down to less than 100 in the blink of an eye. So I guess I will see what items I get back tomorrow, and startbuilding up stockagain.

I am kind of tired of keeping track- maybe I'll try out that XML email reader that someone has made over in the merchant forum. Just dump my emails to the text file and then pull them into a spreadsheet.
