Thread: Anybody else suddenly losing items off the vendor?
I lost about a million credits (retail price) worth of stock sometime in the last day or two.
I am so down right now. ![]()
I've been out of the game for the last week with the holidays, and just returned last night for a quick look at the old tailor shop. Had a large number of emails from sales, as expected over a week, but noticed the vendors were more empty than I'd have expected. Only had a few minutes, so just assumed that the emails plus what was left on the vendors would add up correctly and I was just missing something obvious.
Well, after reading this post and posts on the merchant boards, I'm concerned. I'll look through my inventory tonight, I know I should have X number of colors on specific pieces of clothing for sale, and if the emails and vendor don't add up, then they are missing. Keeping a 500+ clothing vendor stocked, I highly doubt I'd even remember the majority of items that could be missing until I catch up on restocks and look at each category one by one. I'll post what I find after doing so.
If this truely is a bug, and items disappear after 14 days, that will be the final straw causing me to cancel. The relisting all items every two weeks would just be too much work for me to handle. We all posted the bug about the stockroom not working on a 30 day timer the DAY of the patch. There was plenty of time for the SWG team to go over the stockroom code with a fine tooth comb, and this bug would very likely have come out in that analysis and been fixed before it hit all vendors. Instead, they focused on creating new content with the new vehicles. I hope for them that the decision will keep more players than turn away...but unfortunately it will turn this one away. I can excuse most bugs, but ones that cause loss of items demand immediate attention and I have yet to see a red name post about the issue. Every day they wait for a fix is more lost items.
i read a thread in the discussion baords this morning, i agree with the theory there after 13 days or 14days, it sees the items as time being up and instead of getting a message and checking a stock room, it deletes them. here's the link for anyone wanting to read this. It really does make sense to me.

Me too, I was gone for a week. Before I left I had like 400 items in my clothing vendor and like 100 in the food vendor, and a lesser amount in several other vendors. Sales were good while I was gone, but when I got back the clothing vendor had like 100 items in it, and the food vendor had almost 0. Now after reading about this stuff I realize that over half my stock poofed with no reimbersement. To me, the worst part isn't even the huge loss in credits, I can afford that, it's the fact that I now have nearly an impossible task in front of me in restocking hundreds of items in the vendor so that I have a decent selection to offer. That plus the realization that until they fix this bug, I'm going to be losing additional items each day. Man, I need an asprin.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
The only thing worse than constantly restocking things that drop to stockroom is.... restocking things that *don't.* I don't have time to relist everything. I purposely relisted everything NOW so I wouldn't have to deal with it for 3 weeks (in exams).
*cursing ensues*
But glad this is being brought to our attention. I've notified my entire guild. Hopefully it's not too late for them.
But a constructive suggestion for relisting TONS of items
Click on "all" and flip to your last page. Sort by price. Take off the most expensive items of the same price. Then flip to the previous page and take off the items (by using shift-click, then withdraw sale).
(The reason you start from the last page is because then the vendor won't re-sort and pull things in from another page, like it would if you delisted items on the first page first, see? If you start from the back you're guaranteed to catch all the things in your price category.)
Then relist everything in your stockroom, it's all the same price, very quick.
Repeat for the next most expensive group.
That way you 1) don't have to retype numbers midstream 2) don't care about whether the focus jumps around and 3) remember what you listed that pair of pants with the +20 to booty shaking.
I'm no longer restocking. Trying to keep track of what will disappear in 14 days without warning is insane! This will give me a chance to work on some combat skills though.
And if I like it enough, maybe I won't go back! ![]()
i cannot begin to express how ticked off i am...
I just logged in after getting home from work to check to see what ive lost... sure enough.. dozens and dozens of items. Including BE items.
screw this crap

Me neither. I'm down to about 150 items as well. I "rescued" about 50 last night that would have poofed in the next few days, but I didn't even bother doing any other restocking last night, was too depressed. One customer came in and asked me to make her like 4 or 5 things. I was really in no mood for crafting so I told her I would be glad too, and that I'd give them to her by the next day (today). She offered me 50k to do a "rush" job on them. She said that she had visited many other tailor shops and nobody was on, and nobody had virtually any stock left. I felt bad so I made the clothing, fixed some other clothing for her, and made her a free Kimo.
I told another crafter friend (a droid engineer) about this bug and he was shocked. He ran to his two shops (one on Corellia, one on Kadaara) and found that he was missing half a million worth of stuff too. Not sure if he's going to bother restocking either. *sigh* I guess this is what the game is being reduced too. May not be any crafters left soon.
