Thanks for this, on 2 counts:

1. It's nice to know that it's been acknowledged and discussed;

2. It's also really good to have confirmation of the fact that it *is* impossible for us to influence the number of sockets. Gives us somewhere to point to when the inevitable "How do I influence the number of sockets I get?" question gets posted.

Cheers,

I would like to see experimentation have some sort of effect on tailor crafting as well.. I am not too crazy on the idea of experimenting on sockets or durability. There is only 4 sockets...so not exactly much there to experiment on. (At Master we should just get 4 sockets... I dont know what kind of a mess they made out of the clothing code...but it should not be that hard) Durability does not matter much (like someone pointed out), and difference between 100/100 or 110/110, would not be something our customers would care about 99/100.

I would not mind if resources played some role in tailor crafting as well, but only if we get some practical gain from it. If we could make clothes with innate toughness, or some other bonuses (not based on biocloth) then quality resources and experimentation would be great. I would not mind taking a crack at Jedi Robe business for example..

TH, if that was not that EASY, how come you remove sockets from other clothings such as Hide Boots and Headwraps? They do not ever ever come with any single socket now since last patch.

personally I could care less about experimentation, specially being that there is no such thing at the moment, but what I want and have been trying to get some sort of dev response to is new clothes. Come on we are mostly tailors here. This game has been in existance for 2 years now and the only new clothes we have gotten since inception of star wars galaxies is IThorian clothes, which only ithorians can wear and I can count on my hands the amount of people that are actually ithorians and the Extremely revealing skirt WOOHOO!

Come on people we need more clothes to make.Specially Clothes that were worn in the 6 Star wars movies.

And yes, I do agree that this may be a step towards making experimentation and assembly count. I would love having a little bit of control over how many sockets my clothing has.. I'm tired of getting no-socket items as a master with a +25 clothing assembly mod.

I am all for "having control" over the amounts of sockets we get. Perhaps that could come with the quality of the hide we use or something, say... the OQ& DR along with Clothing Assembly +'s.

Ibelieve that all crafting professions should have the quality of the resource matter. Tailor (because it is just normal clothing w/ no stats or bonuses except for condition which doesn't even really mean anything) resource quality doesn't have to be as much a consideration when crafting, but I'd like to see it have at least a little matter in making the clothes.

FWIW, we do know that tailors greatly desire to have some sort of influence over how many sockets. The thing is that it isn't an easy thing to change. We have discussed it with the dev team, but I don't have any additional information about it at this time.

Quite frankly i'm not hoping this. I'm all for the added chance to get 4s items but i don't want to be running around looking for top quality resources to make my clothing. I've got a business to run and i don't have time to be looking for uber resources.

I know I will probably piss some people off, but I i think that entire Ithorian fiasco was a colossal waste of time. All the artist resources wasted on 1% (being generous here) of the people that made an Ithorian. Like it or not, that was the additional clothing content. Some game designer in charge of things made a big boo-boo. If they do give us more clothes, they better have mods...or no one will wear them either.

I won't get pissed at you!

I to think that the ithorian clothes were and are a joke!

Since they introduced them into the gameI have only made 2 outfits. and that is just how many Ithorians I have actually seen in the game.

Thanks for the information! Hopefully some day they will figure out a good way to let us have more sockets without having to do something impossibly difficult.

How about a buff that allows tailors to extend their color pallettes to include more colors for items that a limited color pallette like hats and gloves?

That is weird! I don't have any engineering and I just made 4 socketed headwraps and 4 socketed hide boots.
