Aseembly skilltapes gave a small bonus last time I checked, but it is not very consistant. If you have +25 clothing assembly you could still get 0 or 1 sockets several times in a row, but your chances of getting 4 sockets goes up. Here is a link from the last time a few of us tested it.

It is not working and assembly really does NOT help me get more sockets.

I will test it again as soon as I can. It has *never* consistantly given you 3 or 4 sockets. You sometimes even got 1 socket several times in a row but the way it used to work is that you got 4 sockets more often than you did without the skilltapes.Did you run another test with and without a crafting outfit? If you did please post the data because it would be helpful in trying to get the problems fixed.

The only thing I can tell you, is that it is almost impossible to get 4 sockets on shirts... any shirts. For some reason, belts, hatsand gloves I can get 4 sockets more easily than pants and pants I can get 4 sockets on more than shirts. Wookiee clothing or items in the artisan branch I can never get 4 sockets on those. I must have made 25 to 30 weighted wookiee hoods and never got one with 4 sockets! I used all that hide and the best I could get was 3.

Made melee defense shirts... again it took me almost 18 tries before getting one with 4 sockets to run in my factory.

Belts and gloves usually only takes me maybe 1 or 2 tries to get 4 sockets. PantsI would say it takes me 5 or 6 tries before I can get 4 sockets. Sometimes on pants I get4 sockets 3 times in a row.

The socketing thing just seems a little wonky. They should fix it so that Master tailors have a much higher chance of getting 4 sockets even from the artisan line of clothing.

You DO NEED engineering 4 to get 4 sockets in the artisan line of clothing.

Just did 40 items crafted without my assembly outfit (decided to show the first 40 as previous tests seemed to have been done with just 40 items) My 40 items however was just the last 40 items i had to craft on custom orders, some was BE, some simple, some more complex. But my results was.

0 - 4 (10%)

1 - 7 (17.5%)

2 - 9 (22.5%)

3 - 12 (30%)

4 - 8 (20%)

Not a particularly good test to go by of course because it was not done with the same item.

But i will continue untill i have 1000 entries then do another 1000 with assembly outfit on. Even with different items the range of complexity ratings should be fairly balanced over such a large amount of items, and the results should be fairly accurate i think.

The problem I have... is the 2 socket area.. no one wants to buy 2 socketed items and I think master tailors should get a higher success rate at getting 4 sockets.

i agree, we should have 2 as our minium sockets really imo, with 3 and 4 being most common results.

But with more data we can give, more gyopi has to pass on to the dev's about this issue maybe they will do something after combat revamp

That is what I am thinking. I can say (and do say) as much as I want that sockets need to be fixed and master tailors should not be getting so few sockets, etc. Unfortunately for the average person (and I think the devs are included in this) sockets are not very exciting. You have probably noticed that they have been making these broad sweeping changes to the game in order to make it more fun and exciting to most of the players and well sockets.......I like sockets but I don't know how much of the player base would rejoice if we got 4 sockets more often. Most probably won't care unless they are tailors. Its hard to get the development team to look at something like that, but if there are obvious and reproducable bugs then those are something that we can probably get fixed and just maybe while they are at it they might help us out too.
