  • There are no longer critical fails on crafting (which would previously destroy components involved) -- This went live with Publish 13.1 and was missed with the publish notes. More information - bonuses will still apply, we removed the critical fail/object destruction aspect. Which means that if you fail you will not lose your components.

Now why couldn't they have done that when milk was the rarest substance in the galaxy and I was constantly failing with taming tissues?

Anyway, I am really glad about not losing components anymore. That will help a lot with expensive BE stuff.

So now what's the point of having FS crafting skills?

I don't get more sockets.. crit failure is a non-issue, so what is the point?

Chiana, Tiggs said Assembly bonuses still apply. Your chance to succeed or fail on assembly and whether it's good, amazing or a moderate failure still matters. Just now, if you do fail, it does not eat your resources and components too.

You should be getting more sockets if things are still working. It just isn't consistant like it should be. I am trying to get them to look into sockets and maybe this will open a new opportunity.

Yeah on crits goin goin..looted componants safe. good to see that one patched in.

redo on sockets definatly...it should have some direct link to skill..even if it off assembly it should be directly linked not random

a master with no extra mods should craft out 3 sockets at least 9 times out of 10

someone with full 12 points ass should be pullingdown 4 that way.

I kinda see it as

9 times out of 10 depending on your assembly points will give you sockets of:

11-12 points = 4

10 points = 3and 4

8-9 points = 3

7 points = 2and 3

5-6 points = 2

4 points = 1 and 2

2-3 points = 1

but thats just how I wish it was...*sigh*

call me impatient but......

If they could fix something like this (number generation issue?) then couldnt they have fixed socketting at the same time? we've only had it on our top 5 since they day they messed it up.... er sorry, 'fixed' it.

I also dropped the engineering line of artisan and can no longer get 4 sockets in ANY item that is in the first branch of artisan tailor made stuff.

Ive never noticed any difference in socketting with +25 assembly outfit to +0 assembly. If there is any difference at all its so un-noticable it would need some serious testing to prove one way or another. This is over a 12 months period (or however long its been now since the 4 sockets were nerfed) Ive made clothes often with and without the outfit worn simply because i like changing my clothes a lot however ive never so far tested this extensivly.

Im soon to be moving my vendors and re-making most items again due to being too lazy to move over 3k items from tatooine to naboo... So during this time i will test the assembly thing to see if it works, using 1000 items without and 1000 items with, as a grounds for testing (however the items i make will not be all the same, but should be varied enough that both with and without the suit would have the same balance of items)

Aseembly skilltapes gave a small bonus last time I checked, but it is not very consistant. If you have +25 clothing assembly you could still get 0 or 1 sockets several times in a row, but your chances of getting 4 sockets goes up. Here is a link from the last time a few of us tested it.
