Awesome post, thank you!

Just trying to do some basic calculations, and was wondering if someone can check my math here, please. My macro can do 1 craft every 10 seconds, without tweaking the speed on it. I think I can get it much faster, but my laptop is too slow to keep up.

Ribbed Shirts -

1394 (total crafts) * 10 (seconds per craft) = 13940 / 60 (minutes) / 60 (hours) =~4 hours

Cartridge Belts -

2061 (total crafts) * 10 (seconds per craft) =20610 / 60 (minutes) / 60 (hours) = ~ 5 hours and 45 minutes

Say if I add in30 minutes for training, making it roughly10 hours total to master tailor.

If I can craft every:

9 seconds -9 hours

8 seconds -8 hours

7 seconds - 7 hours

6 seconds - 6 hours

Does this look right to you guys?

Ok...I have read all the threads I can find regarding getting "No Exp" when grinding tailor using a macro. I still cannot find a solution to my problem. I am novice tailor, recently found this site and macro instructions. After a little tweaking got the macro to run flawlessly. Went from novice to Field Wear I in a flash....did not train but kept grinding to avoid refiguring the schematic number for ribbed shirts. Got up to 56K tailor exp and did not realize til after I finished grinding thru an additional 10K steel and 10K fiberplast that my exp had STUCK on 56K. I have logged, re-booted, created actual prototypes, traveled to other planets...done all the things suggested to get my exp to show properly. I KNOW my practice prototypes are being created in the macro cause each of my tools shows the countdown numbers. So...now I am at a loss. My next step is to go ahead and train in Field Wear I and hope that fixes it. Anybody else have any ideas or suggestions? I know there have been lots of bugs lately with missions not paying rewards, speeders "unrepairing themselves" etc. has tailor exp been affected? or am I just doing something wrong? BTW I am using my
Weapons, Droid and General Items crafting tools.....not the clothing tool....is that an issue?

I appreciate greatly any help you can provide!

If you don't train, your xp will cap. So yes, you need to train in something to continue to gain xp.

Thanks NJ! Well I did train in Field Wear I and now the exp is moving again.....I just never knew about the exp cap. Your site is fantastic and the info found here is invaluable! Thanks again for all the time and effort you have put into this. Now I just have to decide on whether to choose architect or armorsmith as my companion profession to tailor.

Our fantastic Correspondent replied to a question I had on Gender Restrictions in a different thread. After some searching, I couldn't find where we stashed the information. The following is cut and paste from n'Jessi's reply because I must sadly admit I can not make zee sticky that she is so famous for.

Gender Restrictions....this is not a complete guide to all clothing restrictions, just a quick glimpse.

/snip start

Female only:

  • bustiers
  • bikinis
  • revealing tops etc
  • flared jacket
  • flared cuff shirt
  • dress blouse
  • sports wrap
  • pleated skirt
  • fash pleated skirt
  • belted skirt
  • short skirt
  • basically all gowns and dresses except those listed below

Males can wear

  • Smock (male ONLY)
  • Admin robe
  • councilman robe
  • doctor's dress

/snip end

Personally, I mark the Smock, flared cuff shirt, flared jacket, and the sports wrap with the appropriate gender restrictions, as I list them. That's just me, though. Again this may not be complete and isn't exactly comprehensive but it's a heck of a better than waiting on me to get the info together LOL.

Thanks n'Jessi!!

Ok i may be a tailor noob but I am trying desperately to get XP and, as I just made novice tailor, I am at 0 xp. i have tried crafting every which way, re-logging, re-booting, etc. and I am getting no tailor xp! I'm using a tailor tool, crafting ribbed shirts and 0 XP!?!?! What am I doing wrong? Please help!!!

First, make sure you're getting "countdowns" on your tools. If not, you're not getting xp.

Second, sometimes it takes a while for xp to catch up.

Third, yes I know you're making ribbed shirts now, but for future reference, make sure to make Tailor items (not domestic arts items) for tailor xp.

Is there any current way to get the correct schematic to grind to Master Tailor ?

my schematic is always changing on me and I cannot get close to the ribbed shirts.

I am a master artisan and starting out tailor.

I guess what I am trying to say is: anyone have the current number for ribbed shirts ?
