Thread: Point of the Tailor Apron?

I have two uses for the tailor apron.

1. The single one I wear to aid crafting, exp on pillows and to look more crafter like when making things for people.

So thats one out of the way and far too many others left spare. So...

2. Use pairs of leather off the bazaar (cheap) to make them and sell them as vendor dressing clothes. People seem quite willing to pay 50-70k for a cheap apron to put on their vendors to show off.

I've been able to sell all those aprons for around 200k. I explain to people that you have to have +10 to get an extra experimentation point but they buy them anyway. I have a house full of leathers, clasps, and CCT's and continue to sell the aprons, belts, and bando's...(yes, even demolition belts)

As to clothing assembly...it should give you less chance of critical failures while crafting. Not that I have noticed much difference though.

From what I understand a better assembly result may give you more sockets in an item as well.

I don't know. I have the suspicion that your assembly skill effects the chance of sockets but that the role itself doesn't. I know I've had Amazing Sucesses in the past and only low numbers of sockets. Also seen it the other way around, a mediocre sucess but 4 sockets.

Ive used 2 Aprom Schems so far and both have been Tailors Aprons! Are what type of apron you get from a schematic random? If it is then ive been damn unlucky so far!

The schematic is random when created. By the time we get them though you never know if another tailor has tested it and found it to be a Tailor schematic. I have a special layout in my storage housewhere I place the schematics is specific positions when I find out which they aren't.

I really don't think its random because I have 4 schematics in my datapad that say crafters apron and all of them are something different.

No, when the schematic item is created and rewarded to you, for completeing whichever part of Jabba's Theme park, it is randomly made into a schematic for one of the four types. The item then stays that type until someone eventually learns it.

I've dealt with many many of these schematics and you get to know all their ins and outs after a while. I've got at least 20 in storage for when I need them.

The simple trick to this is to learn all four concurrently.. always have four on the go at once. You cant learn the same apron-type schematic concurrently (ie: two medic aprons), it wont let you, so simply learn the first, second, third and fourth and you will have access to all four schematics whenever you want them. The schematic randomly turns into whatever is left available.

This way Ive managed to churn out medic aprons pretty much at will, while the architect and tailor (clearly!) dont seem to shift at all and the chef ones move steadily.. but nothing like the medic ones, obviously.

Wrong! At one point I ran out of Medic apron schematics and none of the 15 I had left at the time would work. When the schematic item is first created it's given a type and it's set in stone. They don't automaticallychange to that missing type you need.

This is why tailors are starting to get suspicious of trade forum apron schematic auctions these days. Is it a fresh random schematic or another tailor's Tailor apron cast off?

I must have been incredibly lucky through the two dozen schematics I have used in this manner then! After the first three... which fortunately were all different types, I learnt the fourth which was the different type and the rest have been exactly what i had left each time!? I kid you not! I must be on the luckiest streak ever, I am happy to prove this by simply churning out those medic aprons, I spose!

What did those 15 schematics you learnt turn into? You say they didnt work, you couldnt learn them?Did it let you learn them and not produce any schematic in your datapad? Or did you end up with duplicated schematics? Mine wont let me learn a fifth schematic...

Put it this way...

Learn 1 schematic... say, chef (was my first!)... I then dont make anything...

Learn 2 schematic... say, architect (was my 2nd!)... I still dont make anything...

Learn 3 schematic... say, medic (was my 3rd, too!)... I must admit, I made a couple...

Learn 4 schematic... say, tailor...

whenever I have completed the 3 medic apron runs int he schematicandit wasrevoked, I simply unwrap a new schematic and hey presto.. it is a medic apron... why.. because there is nothing else it can be! You cannot have the same schematic duplicated in your datapad.. try it with an Exquisite Dancers Leotard.. it wont have it... so it has to give you the options available, limit the option and remove risk of failure.

Like I say, what did the 15 schematics you learnt turn into and did you have them all concurrently? Surely that would have been an issue of some sort.

Ok it's like this. At the time I had all 4 types in my datapad and had the medic type revoked by using all three uses. I had 15 schematics in storage ready for when I needed another. I went, picked up and attempted to learn each one. Everytime I did it stated I already knew that type until I'd checked all 15 and put them back into storage.

There were no problems, I still have many of those schematics as I've not gotten around to using them all yet. No duplicate datapad entries, no vanishing schematics, no overwriting currently learnt ones. I was just left with a bunch of schematics in my inventory that I couldn't learn as I already had those types.

Ever since then I've kept track of which type each schematic isn't each time I try to learn them. Putting them into an elaborate patternin storage in order to keep track of that. Once they fix the move up/down commands again I'll be able to stack them properly and save space.
