Yeah I managed to do this too today on the spec ops feild pack (can't remember exact name), screamed "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (add a few expletives here)" in my guildchat window.

Finally breathed a huge sigh of relief when I went to make the second of the three, when I find that the crit fail, hadn't cost me a use on the schematic!!

oh cmon, i have lost lets see how many peices of ris lol. I have lost 2 segments so far (14% nightsister layers, 6% janta hides, intwerwoven usage on schematic and gurk hide and woolamander bones) and then a actual peice of ris armor (all the above plus a gdk scale) My armorsmith at the time had +20 armor assembly and took bespin/pyrollian and still failed three times on me lol. i still need 2 peices to complete my set but i am fearful of all the credit duping going on etc to buy anything large or trade anything large so im waiting it out at the moment. I mastered tailor a while ago too, and i found, even at master and with a apron etc etc i would still fail on clothing quite frequently, way more than weapons or food. It would happens sometimes where i would fail on 3 peices of clothing right in a row, and at least 2/3 of the times i would have 2 crit fails in a row.

It was my understanding that critical fails were not supposed to happen with limited use schematics. Not that they DON'T, but that it isn't intended. I had the same thing happen with one of the military backpacks. I sent in a CSR ticket and had a new schematic and leather the next day......

This was awhile ago, so it's possible that they changed it. Or I got a really nice CSR (which he was).

Why do they do this!! You can't influence the condition or the embedded SEA's value, but you can still have a chance at failing??? How does that make sense? I just can't believe they allow for critical failures on a limited design schematic, it's so petty.

Well, just wanted to give a few comforting words...

In some respects you crafters have a raw deal...the worst thing that can happen to most combat oriented players is to die...and, guess what, you are back in 15secs, as good as new, minus the buffs...ok a loss of 10k max on my server. Plus a miniscule amount of decay under some circumstances.

I don't think it would vastly unbalance the game, if there was a way of (at least partial) recovery for a critical with a limited use schematic.
