It's so unfair -- I don't care about the materials, but I lost an entire crafting chance at a schematic (now only get 2 out of 3 aprons). I really need the money I could've sold it for

Why do they do this!! You can't influence the condition or the embedded SEA's value, but you can still have a chance at failing??? How does that make sense? I just can't believe they allow for critical failures on a limited design schematic, it's so petty.

My sympathies to you fellow tailor, I've had it happen too.
The one I *still* kick myself over, because it was my own fault: I went to make 1 Ex Leotard, because I only had 1 CCT way back when, and it was specially ordered for this 1 leotard. It didn't fail...oh no...in my own haste or idiocy(not sure which), I hit Manufacturing Schematicinstead of Prototype. So, I got a lovely schem for a leotard that I can't make, because I only had 1 CCT. And of course, since I couldn't produce the leo for my customer, I lost out on the 200k they offered me. Ruined my whole day. hehe
I really wish we they would just get rid of crit fails on BE items and looted schems, would sure prevent some headaches.

I can sympathize with you both. Except for me is I have just enough materials to make a factory run of a subcomponent for a harvestor, and instead of hitting Manufacturing Schematic, I hit Prototype!
I have also done that on limited schematics too! Just makes me want to scream.

Yes this does suck and I now take screenies of crit failures as the first time it happened the customer accusedme of trying to rip him off.
Think this is bad tho...as an artisan try crit failing on someones AV21....Boy will Your customer be happy he just lost between 1-2 million credits....

I have also had a critical fail on an apron and i felt sick!
However today i built myself and av-21 and critical failed on it, all that happened was it came out with 1500hp instead of the 94% i can get swoops to.
As you can imagine i was in shock and so happy all at once

I've had 2 critical fails so far, first was on a Tailor Schematic soI didn't really care.
Second was on an Architect schematic I was making for a customer. I had agreed that I would give them an apron in exchange for the other 2 uses. I supplied the Leather and they supplied the schematic. This one I was kind of annoyed since I only got 1 apron and I still had to give the customer his.
