Thread: Socket Situation? Goodbye for now.
I'm sure I'm going to upset several of you with what I have to say about the socket situation...
Yes, I dislike it, I have had to click the "practice" button too many times since Publish 7...but I'm certainly not letting it affect my profession and the way I feel about it.
Quitting the game over it, well, thats just ludicrous IMHO, if you are happy with the game, and letting that ruin it for you, well thats your choice I guess. It's not impossible to get sockets, it may take a few tries...
Anyways, I am not trying to offend or upset, just saying that it's a game, and we each have our own views, I know, but quitting? /shrug

I think for a lot of us it is not just this issue.. I think this is kinda the straw that broke the camels back for many of us.. It is a big issue, and for those of us who have been tailors for a long time, and for whom tailoring is IT, the socket thing can definately be gamebreaking.. I am one of those people more then likely leaving, and I would have laughed if you would have told me I was going to give up my tailoring because of a stupid socket issue.. But, the second the bad stuff outweighs the good stuff, it's time to go.. This is a game, it's not supposed to stress me out, and make me feel over worked.. Everyone has their own point at which the bad outweighs the good.. That's not ludicrous, that's just the glory of individuality.. But, I do know what you mean, and no offense taken here..

The thing that galls me about the socket nerf is not the sockets. I've said it before, I'm not one who really dwells on sockets all that much. But the thought that really haunts me here is that they actually expended developer resource to do this, it didn't just happen. They actually looked at it and said "tailors need nerfing". I can't help but wonder if in the time it took to do this if they could have say fixed the necklace bug, or the vendor categories, or....
I couldn't disagree more, another rational and friendly voice is always welcome
Thanks for saying what I was trying to say better than I could, Seki!! **hugs**
You just keep on a postin' Momo!! We all have something to offer and I know you're still here as long as you're posting.
Well, all of us have something to offer except that Aurthur guy on Bria ( I think that's the name)
(j/k) We need you too I suppose. ![]()
Gee thanks...

I'm staying! I still like tailoring, but as lots of you know, I also have a jedi. That means I can switch to my jedi and play that when I'm not in fear for my life. The stress of that character makes it far less playable than you can imagine. So with that said, I still want to talk about this issue...
I started as a tailor, and that was all I wanted. I remember thinking about working my way up to Bio tissues, adding enhancements to clothes, and loking forward to additions and enhancements eventually. I was naive to think that we'd be able to make skilltapes, or somehow place different skills into clothes for each profession, possibly one day having the abillity to add any modification to clothes.
I looked forward to additional schematics with each new change. They were adding mounts, vehicles, cities, spaceships, and lots more... so it seemed natural to expect the same stuff for each profession. More stuff, more skills, more additions.
What we got was stagnation, bugs not being addressed, bugs being added, sockets being reduced, clothing becoming of little interest for the fact that they serve NO PURPOSE to most of the die-hard pvp players. Sure you can look great, but the ones that care are the players that have been leaving the game because it is not offering them an immersive environment to be part of the star wars universe. The ones that are going to be left are the pvp'ers
