Thread: I am convinced that tailors will be obsolete pretty soon.

As long as female players continue to pore into the game, we will always have customer

This may come as a shock, but all of my best customers were males—both in and out of game—not female. Vanity knows know gender restrictions.

Mine too. In fact my some of my male guildies have more clothes in game than most women do in rl.

Okay, fine, useful to me The point stands. Pre-revamp I'd spend maybe 15K on chef food a month, if that. Post revamp easilly a half mil a month, if not more. Who cares what the specific foods are, the point is…so, so, so much more useful now (and new art! Gah! Why do they get new art?? They don't care, they just want effect!)

Edit: something just occurred to me. As crafters we all talk about wanting more schematics, but I think it's important to point out that what we mean by schematics and what most other crafters mean by schematics are two very, very different things. Most crafters mean "items with new function" whereas tailors mean "items with new form." This is a very important distinction, and would explain—in part—why we feel so let down by the limited use schematics.

Just a thought, from a chef/tailor.... Tailors have gotten a lot more love recently than chef's have since the chef revamp. In the revamp, chef's were told "yes, we're going to greatly reduce the number of schems that you have, but we'll gradually add more back in!" So far, the only schem that's been added since the revamp has been the mandalorian wine, which was added (so I'm told, I've yet to see it) in the DWB.

Tailors, otoh, have had a large number of schems added. Yes, they may be limited use. Yes, some of them are crap. Yes, some of them use existing artwork (most of them, I think) but at least we've been getting new stuff to craft...

As long as we've got slutwear, we'll have stuff to make.

Lol you are kidding right? Large number? 3 schematics we never sell and4 limited use schematics that were put in the game for other professions and not us... How many more schematics chefs got in the revamp again? How many of those items do they sell a day?

Useful chef schematics, pre-revamp: Angerian Fishak Surprise, Corellian Fried Ice Cream, Breath of Heaven

Useful chef schematics, post-revamp: Vasarian Brandy, Vangerian Canapes, Synthsteak, Thakitillo, Veghash, Bivoli Tempari, Bespin Port, Pylorian Cake, Vercupti of Agazza Boleruuee, Accaragm, Ahrisa, Aitha, Blue Milk

Not to mention that many of these items got new art…and you're telling me tailors are better off?? Besides, the main request we have—and have always had—is new art. Limited use items that don't sell well, give useless mods, and ape already extant items don't help us.

Sheesh, this statement is so ridiculous that I really don't even know what to say. Since the chef revamp? Lets just put it this way, chef is one of the very very few professions that has gotten such a total revamp since launch and his been improved so much since then. If 12 months after the chef revamp, you've gotten no more schematicsor fixes, only then would you have cause to complain relative to tailors.

P.S. did I mention how much I hate chefs today?

Tailor's have gotten more love recently? I must have missed that. As a Master Chef/Tailor myself, I can only say this is far from the truth. The Chef revamp totally revitalized the Chef professsion. What did we get? Two dorky hats and an apron :-(. Our lastthree "additions" were wookie armor pillows...er pads, the amount of sockets I was able to produce on an item of clothing nerfed, and a "fix" for an item I wasn't aware that was broken. (Dosh females and grand healer's robes) Where's the love? Are you trying to cite the limited use schematics that require rare loot to make and go *POOF* after three uses? I stand no chance of aquiring these items on my own, so I have to purchase the schematics (and if it's an apron I can learn one at a time and don't know which I got until after I learned it) purchase the subcomponents, and then get yelled at when I ask a rather hefty sum in order to try and recoup the money I just spent aquiring these lovely items. In case you don't see the problem let me break it down this way...

Unwanted schematics (chef gear) + nerfed sockets + invisable "fixes" + being forced to fork out more money for loot items if I want to add to my inventory something that somebody MIGHT be interested in purchasing (LIMITED USE schematics) + being yelled at for needing to sell those items at quite frankly absurd prices = zilch

Whereas

All new schematics (New Foods) + new desgins to the old foods + the ability to offer insanely high stat buffs and charge a mint for it with a smile + a new PERMANENT USE schematic (Mandalorian Wine) = Whole lotta loving.

BTW..can anyone adequately explain to me, why I'm fully capable of making melee weapons and blasters as a Novice artisan, but seem utterly incapable of making something as seemingly mundane as a "Heavy Duty Clasp" as a Master Tailor???

Except for the fact that some of the items that we have been asking for (Scout Vest and weird robe) Are already IN THE GAME there's no art work to hammer out, just give us a schematic for these items. this will (maybe help) mollify us in the short term. Other things (hooded cloaks) should have been on their plate a long time ago, and fixes for certain items we've been asking for SINCE DAY ONE! (necklaces) have still not been corrected. The basic point here is that tailors are being ignored and the devs efforts into other proffessions is only adding to how discouraging this is.

"Don't be disappointed if that request takes a long time - a hooded cloak also implicates headwear, and needs to be modeled on both the heads and bodies of existing species, and probably on any new ones introduced. That's why it's such a pain in the butt."

Especially since they can't bodymap most clothing correctly to fit fat or even *slightly* large-bodied characters correctly. My biggest request is a hooded cloak. Of course, I don't have that to craft for them.

But you know, schematics and armor is only half the problem. We have plenty of schematics that would look awesome in combination with each other, and I'm positive that at least 75% of our schematics come directly from the Star Wars universe. The problem is that nobody *cares* about looking like they're from the Star Wars universe. People want to look like Jedi and anime character, like strippers and Matrix characters. With the exception of a few customers, every single one I have requests all black, all black, all black, and skimpy, and spec-ops.

The special schematic clothing -- Exquisite Leotards, Crafting Aprons--they'll be absolutely worthless after the Jedi revamp. Anybody can get crafting bonuses. Why pay for them when you can be the beginnings of a Jedi?

And speaking of Jedi, why would you want crappy old Tailor clothing, where the texturing doesn't even match between the Ribbed Shirt and the Ribbed Pants, when you can get Jedi Robes, which are a symbol of rank, power, and they've got far more detail and texturing than they ever gave us?

Body mapping, texturing, art, and a lack of public interest. I haven't been a tailor for long. It was what I really *wanted* to do. But I've very quickly realized that there's not a whole lot to do with it, except make myself different outfits. I don't think I could bring myself to drop it, or anything -- it's too much a part of my character and too much a part of what I enjoy, despite what makes me angry about it. But that's just it. I start thinking about it and I get very angry.

the biggest thing i see (want) would be better head pcs.as a Male, the only thing that is kinda decent is the swoop helm, and that is Stupid looking.

(im not a dancer) But they should get a better selection. i was able to come up with a decent (original) dancer look for a male (used uniform dress jacket) and went from there in gold/white , red / bronze, ect ect.

for the combat clothing look you just need to be original in thought, and clothing labels,

Having 2 pair of identical lookign camos . 1) labled Paramilitary camos. 2) Endorian Spec-Ops Camos ill tell ya, the Endorian Spec-Ops camos sell.

I made up 4 diferent spec-ops planetary clothing lines, and i will be making up a few more. maybe a Hoth (cold Weather look) ect ect.

each set is a 6 pc clothing set w/o a head pc.
