Thread: OUTRAGE: HOODED CLOAK ON PLAYER!!
Because the art has to be done for each species individualy, male and female. That takes time and resources.

This should be possible to do. If it was an issue with the character models and how clothes fit on certain parts of the body, for instance, it having to be both a robe and a hat, rememer that this has been achieved with the Grand Healer's Robe for females, why cant they just do the same thing for this type of robe??
That's speculation—we don't know whether or not it's already been modeled for each species/gender. I'll withold judgement until n'Jessi can get us a firm answer on that count.

I am still not happy about the jedi robes. Its not that we can't make the robes. I can understand and accept the reasons for that. What I don't like is that when we have asked for clothes (some of which are already in the game!) we often get the excuse that the art department is too busy and they don't have the resources to work on it right now. But when it comes to jedi they can manage to make all these new clothes for them very quickly! It makes me feel like it isn't that they don't have the resources to give us new clothes. They just don't feel like it is worth using those resources to help our profession.

If this hooded cloak has indeed been added as a jedi-only item, I fear you may never see me again, as the tailors will cut off my head and eat my brains.

The problem with it being a jedi robe is that its a double wammy to our profession. Yes we understand that we don't craft the robes due to technical issues with the ranking system and items being revoked if a rank is lost. We've gotten over that i feel, but to see this is like a dev saying to me "HA! now you not only don't get to make more clothes that are in the game but you don't get to make one of your top desired items!" i mean imagine how a bounty hunter would feel if mandalorian armor dropped off meatlumps and anyone could wear it?

I used to be the tailor correspondent, doesn't mean I've forgotton all the information I was told durring that term.
Each player race that isn't 'humanlike' implicitlyis a mask on a human model, therefore clothes interacting with said model have to be individualy created to include the same mask data incorperated into it. (EG The grand healer robe on amon calimari is not just a hood.. its a hood with the character'sface attached to it with alowances for the eyes and warping of the skull curve included in the data)
What I understood is the robe still needed to be made for each character that is in 'wearable' form. The NPC models can cheat because their wearables are designed for them specificly then tossed in a random pool to be called up by the client.
I'm aware of your credentials, as well as how the skinning system works—my point was that we don't know whether these models exist unused or not, or whether they truly are NPC models. I'm still waiting on firm information to get outraged.
