Hi all, I am also a master tailor on Bloodfin... /wink hey jules

Ok, to garva, nice to see you were able to leave the bloodfin boards, since i know they beat ya around alot, and nice to see a response too.

Here is my thing with tailor, I am also a master Tailor/Image Design... i love both my professions... and i have tried some others mixes in the non combat field, such as master dancer, master entertainer and master merchant.

I have no urge to make a combat profession, that is what my alt is for... hunting and killing, Madison is the calm one, who crafts. But tailor is in some need of fixed. And to say its not is crazy. The biggest, probably one of the longest running bugs... NECKLACES. This is ridiculous that we can not see them, there is no reason this can't be fixed. Jedi's cry and things are done, should we too?

As for changing my template, why should i have to? the changed to IMAGE DESIGN would make me never want to do that again... it is insane, and after non macro- griinding out tailor, i would never ever do that again... which only leaves me with limited points to use which atm go to my merchant so i can have vendors. Tailors should have something where we can recieve our schematics other then spending 100k or more in some loot vendor... and the componets too.

Many crafting professions have sat back for the year waiting for new things, i know we are not the only one... but it would be nice to see something for us. Even if it is something small... something simple...

I am just tired that after we lost the quest to make jedi robes, we now are stuck to sit back and twiddle our thumbs witht he hopes that one day we get something new. Not everyone is a jedi, combat or big fans of JTL, so please help us out here... show us the love!!

BTW Here is my sign for tailor tents!! Woo hoo

Thanks for listening to my rant.... Madison Figaro

I for one would be happy to just get one new item to make like the Slave Skirt. Is that asking too much?

And to say if your bored try doin something else is so insensitive.

It would be nice to just have everything working the way it should currently - that's definitely not too much to ask.

I'm so glad that we pretty much all feel the same way. I realize GarVa has a couple points, but being dismissed with a simple get over it-nothing is that bad-do a different profession was a bit disheartening. I was really excited back in the day when we gotto experiment on our clothing for what, a whole couple days? Anyone remember that? And yeah, would it be so hard to see the darn necklace while we're crafting it...and what is up with the hula hoop belts and bandoliers still? I would love new clothing/content...be it a jedi robe or the slave skirt or whatever...maybe even getting a few more "true" colors. And please get the decay in a patch somewhere! I like being a tailor but I feel it's pretty useless sometimes when Isee someone I've known from (almost) launch wearing the same outfit I made them way back then. Ok I'm done now, back to my sweatshop lol!

The problem is that variety is really the life blood of a creative profession like tailor. Right now, I feel like I have made every decently looking piece of clothing (and several not so decent looking) a million times! My customers and I would love to see something new so that new outfits can be made! This doesn't mean having to spend a huge amount of time. They could add the loot clothing to our list of schematics so that we can actually choose the colors when we make outfits. They can fix necklaces so that people will actually buy them (who wants to buy clothes they can't even see?). They can fix belts so that they work like armor belts and actually fit! They could adjust our color palettes a bit. After all, do we really *need* 70 shades of dirty brown when we don't have basic colors like yellow or turquoise? They could also fix the palettes of some of the clothes so that we have a choice other than white. These are all things that should not take an unreasonable amount of effort and would give all of us a lot to do for awhile until the art department has a little more free time! Yes, I know we are not broken like some other professions are. Instead, we are stagnant, and the sort of people who play tailors usually hate stagnation and want things to spark our creativity. Yes, I also know that I have the skillpoints left to play other professions, but why should tailor be considered a secondary profession that we do in our spare time between other things we do? It should be just as interesting and fun to play as any other profession!

GarVa,

Before we start patting SOE on the back for being SO responsive to tailor's issues lets look at the facts shall we? Here are the top tailor issues of 07/03 (last year)

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=tailor&message.id=342&highlight=#M342

1. No item decay.

Current status: partially implemented last fall, then dropped before it was completed.

2. Colors

Current status: implemented early last fall (yay!)

3. Mobs dropping high end tailored items

Current status: this problem has arguably gotten much worse as now not only do they drop the same high-end items, but now many high end items absolutely cannot be made without looted components. So it seems there is now a shift towards more looting and less crafting, which was the crux of this original complaint last July.

4. Many items either don't scale correctly to different character models

Current status: no clue. Haven't heard this discussed since (I guess there are bigger fish to fry now) but I certainly don't recall anything changing in this regard.

5. Backpacks and bandoliers

Current status: no fix in sight

6. Loose fitting clothing, like cloaks and dusters, can't be worn over armor

Current status: no fix in sight

7. There appears to be no in-game or out of game documentation or explanation of sockets

Current status: hahahahaha. It's funny to think that this was seen as an issue before the socket nerf. Oh my, not only has this not been explained since, even when requested in 19 questions a month ago, but now it's been needlessly nerfed.

8. Clothing has no in-game benefits other than appearance

Current status: this was certainly improved with the bio tissues fixes late last fall, but a "balance pass" is desperately needed as half of them are useless, and the number of clothing items that you can put useful bonuses in is actually pretty small.

So, to me, of the top 8 items of a year ago, only 1 of thoseitems (colors) was really adressed completely, 1 other one was partially adressed (clothing having no benefits), and the other 6 have been ignored. And of the 6 that were ignored, 2 of the issues have arguably gotten much much worse. And remember, these issues are now over 1 year old. If you look at more recent top 10 type lists I think you'll find a much worse track record than 1 in 8.
