Thread: When is it our turn?

I have been a tailor since launch (actually beta if you want to get technical) and all I keep thinking when reading these Patch Notes is when is it our turn? We haven't had any significant changes or additions to our profession since they added the Master colors. We got some "special" schematics that you need kill something to get. Then you need to go kill some more enemies to get the components for them. I do not know about anyone else but I only have enough fighting skills to protect myself. I am a Master Tailor & Master Merchant. I do not want to go out and hunt for new clothes. I am aartisan not a fighter.

The game has been out for a year already. What have you donefor us lately, devs? You gave us a new color for bandoliers (ooooh). You gave us Chef clothing (ooooh)...

Can we see our necklaces when we craft?? No.And we have been spouting about that since launch.

Oh...I just had to let that out.

Well, it's been a whole year with nothing. And the next 6 months to a year is already allocated to combat revamping, jedi revamping, jump to lightspeeding, smuggler revamping, and so on.

So I guess nothing for another year. Yay tailor

I had the same thoughts being a Master Tailor/Master Merchant/Master Artisan.

It seems PvP is the side of the house that gets all the attension. I guess they kinda figured that we would have holo grinded out our profession by now. I have been a tailor since the 2nd month and its been fun most of the time. I guess what they could of at least done for us is open the colors more in the wookie line the earth tones just seem to all look the same after a while. Poor Wooks they cant even buy a break.

I dont feel so bad when I look at Wookies but a Wookie Tailor would have nothing going for it.

Bottom line is I think they wouldnt have thought that a few tailors would remain tailor this long. I have been waiting for something and pretty muchanything but, I am scared to see what they think would be great for us. Having seen what they did to ID's. Although a totaly different skill tree a 10 minute timer was a bad thing for any trade.

But, I agree there are a few things that I would like too.

Woot! So have I Julia and honestly, I'm really beginning to loose hope here that there will be anything for us. No nothing in the "In Concept, or In Development for us at all". Publish 9 for Jedi, Publish 10 for Jedi, Publish 11 for GCW, after that ALL focus goes towards "Jump To Lightspeed" *sigh*

I've been gone almost a month, and nothing has changed in the community either we still don't get what we want, we still feel like galaxy's unwanted stepchildren, it's just we're even MORE hopeless now. *shrug* I'm not going to change, but I don't feel bad for all the time I've not been playing either. (do feel bad for missing oyu guys though )

Forunately, when your one of the only Master Tailors who give a damn about the business on your server ... species doesn't seem to matter much.... I am a Master Tailor / Master Fencer Wook and I get A LOT of business ... people don't look at me for my species... just for that Master Tailor title above my head

I have been a tailor since july last year or so myself, and though the lack of new content is disheartening, the alternatives are even worse lol SWG has spoiled me for other games with the diversity of the clothing, character options, and customizationavailable..... even when this game is at its worst...its still better than what else is out there

Oh well...I'll try EQ2 and the matrix online when they come out, but I'm not really expecting to be lured away....I am still wishing for new pretties for us here though *sighs*

Hey y'all,

We did get something new.......we got the ability to craft wookie pillows for Armorsmiths that require high quality wooly hide bought at extortionist prices of 75cr/unit.....I don't know about you all....but I just turn down requests to make it as the cost of scoring the goods is so prohibitive....

So what is everyone complaining about (wink). That was a huge bonus to us to make this class more profitable......and the limited use schematics sell so well. I don'twonderabout everyone else luck moving these oh so in demand items......I've had a vendor full of them for some time and I've relisted each item at least 3 times after it's 30 day experation. Good luck to you all and may you always have a friend around to dummy for your bunk miss fired necklaces.....

Just wanted to chim in and mention something. I have been a tailor since beta..... We have had a lot of bug fixes since the game was released. Almost everything since then (for updates) has been fixes or balance issues. The reason there is not a huge amount of "content" changes is because we are one of the best "working" professions out there. We do not have that many bugs, and Personally I feel that while we may not have a lot of new clothes, etc. We do have a ton of things to create. More so than most games out there. I see tailor as a job that leaves me with room to do other things at the same time. I am a tailor/ID on my tailor character, and I am never lacking for something to do ingame. Even after all this time I still have a steady flow of people buying my clothes and asking for special things.

I know as has been mentioned before on these forums that there are other things that can/will be added to the non combat professions, but I'm a tailor, I make clothes. While quest and things related to that would always be welcome, they really are notanything that willdrastically change the gameplayof the profession (nor would I personally want it to). You have enough points to get a whole other profession to mingle with, so maybe try changing it around (i'm currently Tailor/ID, but have been Tailor/dancer, Tailor/Musician, Tailor/Pistoleer, Tailor/Swordsman, etc) there is plenty to do but if you choose to lock yourself into something that is boring you then you may want to expand.

GarVa,

First its nice of you to reply I am sure you very busy so thanks for taking the time. I understand your honour bound to support game no matter what but even you have to look at the total year for tailors its not good. While your right in say we have had many bug fixes you question how and why so many got into release int he first place and most of the bugs where quite minor.

You also have to look at the vast number of bugs still in the profession sure a lot are minor but ones like the necklace bug are very major for us but like as nothing as we saw at fan fest.

The problem is Sony could do so much more we would feel less upset if once in a while they gave us something instead we seem hell bent on taking away from tailors. You give jedi their own robes, you give us schemes we cant get requiring items we have no way of getting ourselfs.

This would not be so bad the other away around but you give combat classes skills tapes so they dont need BE, and also other rings shirts and robes far more effective than anything we can produce. With the jedi and their robes plus more and more rare loots, the jump to light space what role do tailors have.

What gets me the most is how little effort it would take to fix the necklace bug or add in just one new item of clothing, damn the scheme from the newbie vest would be something ?

I am sorry but we should not look at what they have done but what they failed to do. The fact they fixed bugs they should not have had in the first place should not count as effort. Its like a builder making a house with no roof and calling it bug then charging you 1,000 a month to but the roof on. Then say well at least we fixed you windows and doors ?

Wow, who'da thunk it's perfectly ok to go a year with no new content. Who'da thunk our 15 dollars a month wasn't in fact for new tailor content, but for oh rifleman content, and tera's kasi content, and jedi content. 's a good thing all these tailors are busy paying their monthly fee so that new weapons and quests and dungeons can be added for other people.

Ooo, and strait from the horses ass ...er.. devs mouth. Since tailor has stagnated for over a year with nothing new and it's getting stale, well we can all just suck it up and pick something else to do.

Wow, I am totally shocked that this post caught you attention Garva. Although I appreciate your response and your support for SWG there is one thing that you are not taking into consideration. One of the largest draws for me in this game was that it was a games that didn't require you to fight. I love the role-playing, social aspect of the game. I was looking for a game wherre I could craft or do something non-comabt while still being able to socialize with people who have the same common interest, Star Wars. I have tried comabt on other servers and although it is fun for a few days, I don't enjoy it enough to drop either of the professions that I worked so hard (Non-grinding or macroing) to get. I like being a tailor. I cannot drop Merchant because the benefits it offers me are what allow my business to be so successful. I have only enough skill points left to defend myself and "start" another tree.

Anywho, the purpose of my post was just to vent out my frustration on a very bad day for me. I still think that even though Tailor is not "bugged" we still deserve content. Our oppinions and wishes are totally unrecognized.

I totally understand where GarVa's coming from on this one. The fact is we are more functional than a lot of other professions—Squad Leader, for instance. However, there are some fairly large issues for tailors that go beyond the intraprofessional functionality we enjoy. There are problems with inequality in interprofessional dependance that leave us being seen and treated as an impediment, rather than an equal as we should be. These problems are the root of one of our more recent tirades, that of the component crafter/craft-slave. For myself, and I think for many tailors, it's not so much that we don't want to craft components for others, or that we dislike the limited use schematics, it's the resentment we're shown and subsequent borderline-abuse that makes these facets of tailoring unappealing.

In absence of any really good ways to easily solve these problems we ask that some sort of consideration be shown. Be it a decay fix (coming soon, thank god,) a fix to necklace visibility, or the inclusion of schematics for clothing that is at present uncraftable. I don't think that asking for some sign that we've not been forgotten is unreasonable, given that many of the changes to our profession—while good in theory—have been neutral at best in practice. Just once we'd like something that we can give an unreserved thumbs up.

the reason why that PvP gets the most attention is because that's what get 'talked' about the most. If you want to be heard, you have to speak just as loud as they do. The players yell for more content, yet here we are getting nothing. I just love hypocrits!

I agree with Garva to an extend... The problem is that we want something new, because there hasn't been much at all for us since the beginning of the game, at least nothing that we wanted... We still have the necklace bug too! But yes, I guess that compared to lost of professions we are prettylucky /shrug.
