Look at the Combat Upgrade... they say it's something that's never been done in an MMO before, but really... the reason it was never done before is because it never HAD to be done before.
FINALLY! At least some others realised this too!!
As for the question about earings being ingame. They are actaully. To my knowledge there's only 1 and I'm not sure if it's equipable. I have seen the Gungan Earing before but have no clue as to where to loot it at.

They are, go kill alot of gungans to get the Gungan Signet Earring that you can't wear and when you drop is near impossible to locate.
