Didn't think people would catch it,
but yes it is the difference between length,
jackets waist and above, coats below waist
not the 'heavyness' of it which makes a jacket or a coat.
There for a jacket can be a coat but a coat is not a jacket.
kinda like ships and boats

I love explaining what a snog is to people who use it.
I've pretty much got used to the American way of saying things now, from being online since I was 13 (20 now), I've picked up most of it. I also have family over there that I stay with, so must of my "Eh, what the heck does that mean?" questions have been answered by now. I still occasionally get the odd moment, but mostly it is people not knowing what I'm going on about.
