It makes sense: if you can drink on a mount, why can't you survey?
Bah! Everyone knows drinking and driving is illegal!

sorry, but surveying while riding a mount ...
First thought was of an old prospector riding his mule and looking left and right of the trail for gold.
But then: we are in science fiction here. But even in a SF Scenario i would think of a specialy (e.g. survey tools) equipped "speeder" for surveying while driving through the countryside.
I appreciate the non-poofing structures, but the new survey system is (not only from the RP-perspective) - sorry to say that - stupid.
The RP part is the one which annoys me most.
@AllyaEcati: To avoid abandoned houses: just delete them after e.g. 3 month of not logging into an account (not a toon).

You're right, Ipita, the housing problem is being addressed:
SOETyrant's post:
This is coming soon (within a couple of months). The design will go into In-Concept soon. Short version is housing will be rolled up after 6 months and characters deleted after a year of non-payment. Yes, there are a lot of other provisos and details, but please wait for the design to show up and we will take feedback on it in concept.

Having had one house poof from underneath me with many of the few loot items I had managed to earn because it was owned by a guildmate who rerolled, they need to do something to address the real issues of shared lot space. The fact is that 10 lots is just not enough for some characters and too many for others. As a dancer I own my guild's cantina and theater so if I want my own house (and I want a large Naboo), I have to either get an alt or borrow someone else's lots (as a tailor, I have two factories - both on other people's lots, and I'm not sure of the account status of either of those players). They need to do something to increase the permissions for admins. Something like any admin should be able to transfer structure ownership. That way if someone trusts you enough to put you on admin on a structure they put down, and they disappear from the game, you should be able to transfer the ownership to someone else who is willing to receive it and still active. As admin you should also receive any notifications on status of the structure. That's what I think anyway.

I know the new forums are confusing, but if you have concerns over patches on TC, you can also start or contribute to a thread on the in-testing: public board where you don't have to be a dev to start a thread (this means you can comment on issues that the devs may not have started a thread to address). You are, of course, also free to post in this forum (I guess in this thread) for Gyopi to gather your concerns and take them to the devs.
I'm still waiting on information on the auto-deduct of maintenence before jumping to conclusions, but I feel that it could prove to be problematic in certain situations, particularly those situations where you are leasing a house on your lots to a friend.
Edited to remove accidental smiley.

I was gone for around a month, andyes. My fault really, I forgot to put money in before I took my break and/or add anyone else to my admin for it.

*sighs with relief* ok, just wondering because I've been gone for almost a month, I put in enough power and credits to last it 100 days, so I got alittle worried there...lol hehe
