  • Allowed survey/sampling while mounted.

Edit: this apparently means while mounted on a creature mount, not a bike.

That's awesome! I hate getting off my bike, because then I usually end up running from spineflaps and sharapauts.

Bleh now it's "while on mounts" - i.e. creature mounts. Not bikes. Excuse me while I weep quietly in the corner.

Doesnt make a lot of sense why mounts and not bikes (roleplay-wise anyway)

However its quite neat their trying to encourage mounts a bit more.

Nice patch tho, nothing that effects me really in a drastic way or makes me want to cheer wildly. But any bug fix patch is a good thing for the game nice to see things happening again.

Well I'm still wanting details on the player structure maintenence thing, but I *think* this will prevent factory poofing if you forget to pay maint, but you can't access it until you pay up again.

"All maintenance fees will automatically attempt to deduct from Bank accounts after the maintenance pool has been depleted. Once a structure reaches 0 hitpoints, it will flag itself as condemned instead of deleting itself. Condemned houses are not enterable, and all other structures are not usable. To uncondemn a house, simply enter it with enough money in the bank to pay the repair cost. To uncondemn all other structures, use them with enough money in the bank to pay the costs."

I saw that "on mounts" thing too, and though, but... I only go out surveying on my bike so I can flee and live! Ah well.

As for the condemned houses thing... it has a hitch. Any city praying for ghost houses to burn so they can regain the space are out of luck now. Buh bye to any hopes of any urban renewal. I really, really hope they modify that one a bit so mayors can "relocate" condemned houses. Or something.

And... if a condemned house cannot be entered, then just how does one enter it to pay the repair cost? And if you cannot enter to access the structure management terminal, then how do you know if you have enough money in the bank to cover the cost? Hmm?

Cool stuff. It'll be fun to ride around on Ugly (my best Bantha buddy) and survey without having to use an update macro. I'm sure I'll go back to the speeder after a while, though.

I like the maintenance change for the "fixing screwups aspect" (I forgot about it over Christmas/New Year's and lost 4 fusions) but worry about the effect on players who aren't there anymore. Maybe a limit on how long they'll stay without actually being maintained? Otherwise, might just as well stick with letting them burn out.

Speaking of burning and harvesters: where's the animation?

I find the description of structure payments and decay to be ambiguous so I'm trying not to get hung up on any little point before testing is completed on TC. The key is that it prevents our factories from poofing.

As for cities - I definitely agree that abandoned houses are a problem but decay has never been the best way to solve it. I have enough money on one of my characters to pay up my house until 2007. I am hoping that the devs are going to find an alternative solution to abandoned houses, now that house "poofing" is out of the picture.

I have read that this has been tested and it works while on a bike too so instead of mounts it should say all types of transportation.

The house thing has me a little worried. While I don't like the idea of my house and structures going poof, I also don't like the idea that there are going to be abandoned houses and structures left behind from players that have quit.

Things are still working weirdly on TC at the moment. Yes, it's true that you can survey/sample from a bike. You also see bothans streaking the countryside (I logged on last night to discover a bothan in his undies hanging about Theed). I don't think the patch is quite how it will be when it hits live

As for the house thing, a few more days of focused testing on TC should make things clearer on this issue.

If you have concerns about any of the changes, the best place to post them is with the TC patch notes here.

Watch out! Those naked Bothans are krayt dragons in disguise!

It makes sense: if you can drink on a mount, why can't you survey?
