Forgot to mention - I named mine Janome

(For those not familiar with it, Janome is a brand of sewing machine.)

So these storage modules...does that mean you can get a droid, say and R2 unit. Put a Clothing/armor craftin station module inside. Plus put a storage module? Can you store stuff inside the droid then?If so, how much?

The storage units are currently broken, though supposedly that'll change with the next BigPatch....

Okay, I have an R5 with a clothing crafting module, or whatnot. I love the little guy, but until just now, had no clue what in the world he did. So, at the cost of sounding horribly newbish, how do I use the crafting module in him?

I seem to have a hard time finding a clothing crafting droid on Radiant. I've contacted at least 15 DEs and the only one I've found who can make them wanted what I considered a pretty ridiculous price for a droid. This is the first time I've really been trying to track a product down, and I'm surprised by the lack of customer service! At least half of the crafters I found (while they were online) through community search ignored my tells, but I know tells get hectic, so I sent them email instead. I started my search 5 days ago and haven't heard back from a single one of the 8 folks I emailed. So I guess those guys don't want my business!

If you have one and wouldn't mind sharing, what did you folks pay for your crafting droids? Or what would you consider a reasonable price? I'm thinking of an R5, those have always been my favorites... ooh, unless crafting modules can be added to a gonk?

If you were on Kauri I would direct you to Ghost, the guy who made my droid. Bought it for 7500 creds, I don't know how that copares to prices elsewhere, but I love the fact that I have an R5. Keep looking, and asking around. I'm sure you'll find someone with what you're looking for, eventually.

Whew, I guess that answers part of my question! I k now prices will be different between servers, but the one person I contacted wanted 25k! For an R5 with a clothing crafting station. I guess I just need to wait a week or so until some more DEs on my server level and the prices come down some. Or maybe I'll travel to a different planet to look around, thanks!

I think my R2 unit cost like 20,000 or so - but I think the little guy has already repaid for himself in usefulness! And from my fairly sketchy understanding of the DE profession, it seems pretty reasonable to charge those kinds of prices based on their schematics, resource requirements, etc.

I always try to have a healthy respect for the needs of other crafting professions; just as we hate to see people insisting that they should only have to pay 100 credits per tailored item since they're "just clothes," I don't want to insult the hard-working crafters in other fields.

Oh, someone asked about the mechanics of using the crafting station function: That's real easy - just bring out your droid, keep him nearby, and start crafting! You'll now be able to make every schematic, including the ones requiring a crafting station. You don't need to issue any specific commands or anything - just have the droid hanging out nearby, and you'll be fine.

Oh, I should add that my R2 is, as far as I can tell, pretty much a top-of-the-line tricked out model with the best available stuff the DE could put in him. Not just the crafting module, but also Armor 3 and a Medical module. Didn't especially *need* a medical module when I went shopping, but have since found it to be a wonderful little extra. Healing customers' battle wounds while they shop can be a nice little enhancement of their overall experience...

Did crafting droids stop working again. I was pressed the night before last and my droid didn't give me the crafting station effect. But I didn't have time to do a lot of tests and was too busy to log in last night to recheck.

But did anyone else have trouble with their droid not working again?

Hmm, not me. My little Kickbot was happily doing his thing for me last night.

Ok thanks ... guess I need to see if I can get some time to check tonight.

Besides I think all my harvestors and factory are running out of money or juice. Ahh the plight of a casual player

My little mouse droid 'Bud' works perfectly! I've never tried storing anything in him though, heard it's a bit buggy...but his clothing crafting station works perfectly and he was very very cheap! I can't believe I was timid about purchasing one-thought they'd be WAY expensive.
