Thread: Pricing on BE enhanced clothing

There are major differences in prices on each server. Your best bet would be to visit a few tailor shops and check out their BE goods. There are a TON around Theed on our server, and Eva has an amazing shop on Tattooine.

I price my 1K per stat plus the cost of the item. That way I cover the uber players and also appeal to the players on a budget. Oh, and I price my BE entertainer clothes by half only because they get the short end of the stick from other players not tipping.

That's a good point. I think I'll start doing that.

To really have a succesful shop, having the item available on the vendor is more important than the price,,

So true, so true!

I know a few other tailor vendors around my shop who sell for way less but with that: They are usually unstocked and offer much less selection. One shop is usually empty and when stocked only has black and white clothes mostly. But cheaper.

My shop I charge more but at the same time I am always stocked and offer a wide variety of clothing.

And I can't speak for everyone but for myself... I prefer a well stocked, reliable vendor who I know will always have something I'm looking for and can help me with custom orders and who I can makea relationship with that is a tad bit more pricey then another vendor that is unreliable and doesn't offer me the same options.

Also... I don't honestly believe I overcharge. Compared to a few other vendors you could say that, but the way I see it they are under selling.

Us tailors commit alot of hard work to keeping our vendors full, we deserve some sort of profit. And if you don't have scout, which I don't, getting hide IS expensive. There aren't many rangers out there since its one of them useless professians and the Bazaar usually has nothing then a few stacks of 1-224 hide for 6k cr.

Oh, I have a question though...

How does BE clothing work? What stacks, what doesnt?

Can I throw 2 +14 wound healing's into one jacket/pants/shirt and get a +25 one? Or can I throw them into a shirt and add another type of enhancement?

I charge 1K per skill enhancement point plus the cost of the item, but I cap it at 50K. So, +25 medic or taming would be 50K, but +15 intimidation/warcry would be 30K plus whatever the article of clothing costs. I've had good success with it.

There are a lot of undercutting tailors. I just don't get it. I received an e-mail from someone over the weekend trying to pull off something similar to what I'm doing. Lots of tailors in one shop. Their prices went something like this:

Hide boots 100 credits

short sleeve shirt 100 credits

gloves 50 credits

and so on....

I mean, how do people expect to even survive on those amounts?!?

This was done a lot in Beta and the first month or so after launch (on Chilastra). Tailors who drastically undercut usually don't last too long so that really doesn't bother me anymore. People know me and know I am here to stay - that's all that matters.
