Thread: Spec Ops Backpacks
Now I'll be selling them for 4K again, along with the BH packs at 3K, and Tech at 2K. Once the factories are working again they'll always be in stock, too.

I'm on Intrepid also, and was lucky enough tostash a few hundred units of titanium aluminum from the second week the server was up, before I was even a tailor. The first time around, I sold Spec-Ops packs for 4k and sold out within a week; this time, I'm selling them for 6k.They're definitely rare, forthe next few daysanyway.
Thoranium steel...I have sold zillions of BH packs, and I'm still sitting on 14k of thoranium steel. It's weird how the resources vary from server to server. This is the first shift I've ever seen plexite amorphous gemstones pop up, and the second timei've seentitanium aluminum.
I find this kinda funny...I mean, what you people are getting for the packs. I am on Flurry and you would never get that much for them here. We has a shortage of the steel for around 3 or so weeks but it is back now and I have a medium harv on it. The aluminum needed for the other packs is long gone. It had been gone since the 2nd week of the game. I still have around 450 units of it and sell the packs in my store for 3995. They don't sell. So what is up here? How come you all sell them like crazy but I can't move one?
I had a customer today ask me what was so special about them. I told him nothing but the prestege of owning one. He didn't buy it. I also have a large customer base too and it is growing all the time. But people on Flurry are always looking for a bargain or a sweet deal. I am not a Master but have Casual III, Field III, Formal III and Tailoring IV. The Masters in my area are all dropping their prices. Things that used to cost 12K are now 8K. I guess they figure that if it don't sell, better drop the price. But I also noticed that there has and is becoming a large influx of Tailors in the Theed area. I guess it all comes down to supply and demand. When demand drops, the prices drop. The dancers I know would love to have one of those little outfits that the Masters make but that takes alot of tips to come up with that sort of money.
Anyway, enough of my babbling on.
Durek's Discount Clothiers - Theed, Naboo - Flurry
I am on Ahazi, which I am certain is the most populated server Tailorwise and charge higher prices than most of you. 99% of my customers don't bat an eye from the hundreds of thousands of credits they earn because money is so easy to get. Couple this to the fact that nearly everyone I know (175 people on my friends list) is either a crafter or a resource broker. I say all of this to justify my prices here:
Tech: 2k
Bounty: 4k
Spec-Ops: 6k
Of course, as a responsible tailor, I don't make the lower end items, but refer others to some Novices I know to buy from them.

I figured as much too when Inoticed one daythere were about 6 other master tailors within a minute or two walking distance from my shop ![]()
As far as the original topic with the spec ops/bounty packs you can dictate price based on rarity of resource, on Ahazi titanium alum has popped up in about 4 different varieties by now while there hasn't been any thoranium steel since about the second week of the server. I sell my BH packs for 4kand the price will go up the smaller my stackgets.
I sell BH packs and Spec Ops packs for 2k on Ahazi..., but I have a CRAP load of Thoranium and Aluminum...,

This is quite interesting, I take it everyone here sells their items at EQ prices. Meaning, whatever the market will bear. I guess I'm one of the odd ones, I sell everything I make at set prices that are determined by how many resources it took to make, did it require a factory, and what level the item is in the tree.
So just as an example
Spec Ops packs are 717 (although I haven't made any yet, haven't gotten the titanium aluminum)
Bounty Hunter packs are 600
Tech packs are 325
I don't sell travel packs unless specifically requested, I leave that up to the artisans and bazaar fiends.
I am a casual player, and I'd have to say I've sold more to guildies than to others but that's just my playing style.
I do the same, but I charge more for rare resources, and for higher level items.
You're getting ripped off selling those backpacks so cheap, the aluminium and metal they use are very rare and at this rate you won't be able to make any of those soon until the metal reappears on your server.
"You're getting ripped off selling those backpacks so cheap, the aluminium and metal they use are very rare and at this rate you won't be able to make any of those soon until the metal reappears on your server."
Why am I getting ripped off? Titanium Aluminum is out there, it can be harvested. I do not pay for resources, if I don't have that resource then I don't make the item. I would say the only profession that should be able to do this would be weaponsmith. Otherwise what is the hurry? I say that all of the rest of you are ripping off your customers. There is no way I'd pay more for an item just because a particular resource is hard to come by. I'd simply wait until the resource comes available and mine it myself.
Ihop, you're selling at stupidly low prices, no other way of putting it. Of course you sell at what the market will bear, that's why there's a market, that's how it works.
People like you can waddle along making absolutely NO money trying to "save your customers money" while all of them go out and make master combat skills and get to the point where they can solo 16k missions in 5 minutes. Even after the nerfs it still takes all of 5 minutes to make 15k in places, yet you feel that charging people 1/3 of 5 minutes of work is "stealing" from them? Even my novice pistoler make 20k in less than an hour running missions she could solo easily.
I'm happy you're having fun, but you're being naive about it and are hurting yourself, others who DO want to make money and the market itself with your utter lack of business skills. When you can't afford a swoop bike or X-Wing when they get added to the game, just remember all those happy little backpackers who now have those X-wings and swoop bikes.Their ability to buy that that was your price you paid by not charging market based prices.

heck, i even have a novice tailor's vendor in my shop, if only she stations it as faithfully as i guard my vendors *sigh*... i don't know enough novice tailors around, and end up making the stuff myself ![]()
i gotta say though, ahazi is full of master tailors, even *i* am one... riis probably don't remember me from my cantina days, back when i was a musician ![]()
