I really enjoy being a Master Tailor, however, it comes with a lot of work, especially when combined with Merchant. My vendors keep me insanely busy. I always hate whenever I go to empty vendors or vendors that never have anything I need on it, so I have this drive to keep my vendors from not turning out like that. It can be like a job sometimes hehe. Tailor definetely has its chores, which I always refer to as my "Tailor Chores" and usually consist of checking my harvestors, reloading my factories, and restocking my vendors. I usually end up restocking twice a day and spend a lot of time in my Merchant tent. Some days my business will be lower and some days my vendors will get hit so hard Im restocking for hours. But I enjoy it. Making Bio-Clothes is fun too, although finding a good BE dealer I've found can be quite a quest in itself. Maybe Im a glutton for punishment when it comes to keeping myself busy, but I just really like the creative aspect of it and being able to offer a service that my customers appreciate. I do my best to keep my customers happy to get myself a name for myself in the galaxy and Im proud that I've never once spammed my vendors.
I usually always have my title up. I find that it actually gets me a lot more business, just running around. I carry everything on me so I can make any item there on the spot for instant custom orders. I usually wont get flooded with tells or anything, not anywhere as badly as if I run around with my Master ID title up, but I will get the occassional tell from someone who sees me run by. However, I find running through the Coronet Starport with my title up an instant way to attract tells from 2-3 people. But Im starting to get a bit of random tells from people on other planets who've been refered to me by other customers of mine and that makes me very excited. Its random to be in the middle of no where on Lok or something and have someone send you a tell that they got my name when asking for the name of a master tailor in the auction channel, but that was probably a moment that made me feel really happy and proud that Im actually starting to make a place for myself in this galaxy. I really love tailor and I could never drop it. I love making people happy and making clothes for them and seeing how happy they are in result from it. And getting a random schematic from someone can really make my entire day hehe.
It does frustrate me though when people want large amounts of components. I only have 2 factories, one I use mostly to make components for myself and one to help handle the demand other people have of them. When someone asks me about components, I usually try to recommend them getting a schematic of it if they want large amounts of it. I can usually handle an order of a couple crates, but large amounts always frustrate me.
I love helping out my guildmates though the best. I usually end up giving random presents to guildmembers and enjoy being able to make whatever they need on the spot. I feel like Im actually making a contribution, while being able to help out my friends, so I get extra happy when I can make one of their days with a piece of clothing or something.
But Tailor is great. Its definetely worth all the work.

Well you people said it... happy & frustrated.
It started well for 2 weeks after reaching Master Tailor. I always gave people a smile, did all my orders, helped everyone... all fora good price. Then 1 bad customer would appear. Then it was 2... then 3... then half my customers were @$$es. That's why I decided to give up taking special orders.
For the so little money we make per clothes, taking $#!% from 3-4 people a day was just too much.
I was able to take $#!% from people when I was a Droid Engineer because if that person didn't want their 50k droid, then someone else will buy it by placing it in my vendor. But when you have just spent 30 minutes with a stup!d customer that just won't accept the fact that you cannot make their Metal Bikini colormatch their armor. Sure I could just place that Black & Gold Metal bikini in my vendor... but at what cost? I lost 30 mins of my time for a 2k credits Metal Bikini.

...trying to stock my vendor
I most own up to the fact that I am somewhat lazy, so fully stocking my vendor has been my goal for over three months now - though I am happy to report that I am finally almost done! I like to keep stocked, but my long-term goal is to put up my custom outfits vendor... personally, I believe that tailor is potentially one of the most creative professions in the game. One can put together hundreds of different outfits from the schems we have, and on top of that we have a plethora of colors to choose from (plethora! I got to use plethora!). I want to become known as a tailor who comes up with interesting outfits in different colors
And be famous. And a bajillionaire. And an uber-l33t-iamtehpwnage (okay, not the l33t part) fencer.
Heck, when I get really really bored I'll try to be a jedi. Fear my pointy needle +3!

...having fun and meeting new people.
I just made Master Tailor 4 days ago, and have been using the "Master Tailor" title proudly ever since
Havent got that many orders, although just yesterday I made a Wedding Suit, and also got an invite to the happy occasion! But I am currently working up to Master Swordsman as well, mainly because I like to kill things and don't want to have the hassle of using a secondary character. Atleast that way I also live up to my name

...trying NOT to stock my vendor.
I hated that part of it before. I stocked a display vendor this time. I do custom orders. After making one of every item for my display vendor, I never ever want to actually stock one with clothing for sale.
I like tailor and with to keep it, but there has to be a way to make us a bit more profitable. I have to rely on component sales and my NON-crafting character to support myself...it can be trying.
I only made money selling BE clothing before. Custom orders is the way I choose, but people want their product NOW and waiting less than a day for a custom order is just too much for the impatient buggers. So guildies are my main customers.

...stressed out!
I love tailoring but I hate that if you take a few days off your stock gets really low and people travel to your shop to see nothing new
I guess I shouldn't let it bug me, just have fun sewing when I can
I'm a pretty casual player and my regular customers at least know I don't restock super often.

Interesting to see that some people are up to their necks in buisness. I for one don't have that much of a problem with orders, I hardly get any! But thats not a bad thing because then it gives me time to go hang out in cantina's with my favorite gal. Maybe it's just my server? I'm on bloodfin. Even if I wear the master tailor tag while walking around town I'll only get 2-3 tells. My vendors are stocked but with pretty low level clothing since I'm not really a vendor person. Thats probably one of my problems. I hardly ever get custom orders from people who walk into my store.
So I'd finish the sentence with: at peace and pretty laid back.
*glare*
I'll finish my sentence with:
"....on Dantooine hunting for Hide on my second acct."
I can't display my Master title at all. I'll get too many tells to deal with.
Mostly, I hide in my Player City with my Tailor. He hardly ever leaves. My house for storage, my 3 factories, and my 4 vendors are all within a close proximity, so I have no worries about travelling too far. Just the other night, I spent 1-2 weeks hunting for about 5-10k hide, I went through it all in 2 days, pushing out factory crates of clothes and such. Four days later, all the stock was gone. 2 Weeks of hunting, for 4 days of stock.
*cry*
And to think, people tell me I need to get my own shop, instead of being in my city's Mall. *shudder* I would hate to think of how much business I would have if I *did* have my own shop.
If you're wondering, Most of my stock is for women. Bustiers of all kinds, Sports wraps, Dresses, Slip Dresses, Skirts, etc. Mostly in Purples, Reds, Blues, White, Black, and Yellow. Occasionally I'll make Seafoam and other colors, but they don't sell as well.
Footwear is the hardest for me to keep in stock. I sell more footwear and headwear than anything else. I've even increased my prices a bit on them to try and slow my sales down. (1000 units of hide for 100 boots, Uniform only, in 3-4 colors.. and it doesn't last me a week.)
The funny thing is, I'd say the Domestic Arts 1-4 clothing sells more than the actual Tailoring Items. (With the exception of the Two-Tone Formal Skirts, and the Uniform Boots.)
In short, I am extremely busy, and I'm in a Player City with at least 3-4 Tailors.
