So I have to give up 24 points BEFORE I open the second character slot?
I guess merchant would be the easiet to regain...

It is impossible for me to keep that much stock on my vendors!! It sells too quickly. I am barely able to keep 40 to 60 items stocked on each of my 4 vendors!

I think I will go for my second slot, just because I have my main set up and can't try any other combo's.
I'm Tailor/TKM/Merchant 3004/novice scout, and I think i have 5 skill points left...
It would be nice to have the extra lots, and if I get ambitious, I might go for Architect or Chef or something, but I don't think I'll have a Jedi...
Ooooh, I could master dancer again...I miss that one.

since I am still able to drop vendors and get them dressed and advertised and drop everything but managment 2 I am easily able to free up enough spots for the 24 skills.
Now if they make us get advertising 3 and keep it it will be a little harder. But as of now it still works when you drop it.
I am just upset about the major grind just to open up the second slot. It is just such a large amount that unless you got free unlocks it is not really even feesable except for the uber grinders. and that is just to get the slot and start down the path of more grinding for jedi If you wish.
Where is the questing???
(ok, I know there is a couple hours of quests but they themselves are just grinds as well.)
At least they didn't totally screw over crafters this time. only got partially screwed.

I had that problem when i was first tailor, for me it was the fact i had so many custom orders to do while restocking it felt as if i never really finished. This way caused me quite a lot of frustration.
Since then i have quit and restarted a few times, and when i restart i allways keep my location secret, and restock upto about 4-5k items (pre-merchant change) before turning on vendor advertising, since then i just restock daily, replacing items that are bought, i dont get anywhere near as many custom orders this way, often going for a few days without a single custom order, i have on my vendors pretty much every colour combination that doesnt look completely revolting after all 
That many items is a bit harsh for the 30 day mark tho when tons start going to storeroom :/ (i sell everything, not just the most common items).and doing it this way you need to be carefull not to let the days stack up, getting to a weekend with about 500 emails of items you need to replace is pretty soul destroying, feels like grinding the proffession all over again

I have 3 accounts already 2 for my use and 1 for my wife. She will be opening a 2nd slot within 7 weeks.So no need for me to oppen another slot

Yes, free charcter is my main aim too. i already have 2 accounts, but like most people i never seem to have enough skill points but 2 extra characters would do nicely.
but 2 extra characters would do nicely.I have completed a quest at aurelia with each now. i was most amazed that i had 2 free unlocks even though i'd only done 10 professions (never hologround)
in order to get my main through the initial combat i had 2 lovely gurrcats from my alt guarding me so one time i was tending my harvesters, they groweled and shot off, dispatched the 2 sith in seconds, the camp was a little tricky, even though i ordered the 'cats in to attack the sith wanted to target me so i had to fly in circles around the camp on my swoop till they were dead. then it was off to Aurelia.
For any other non-combat types, do you find it very tricky getting to aurelia from the science outpost and back ? i zig and zag so much i do 3x the actual distance

I am so sad. I've aquired 2 other accounts from guildies who have moved on to other games (one had a modem and couldn't keep up with the patches, the other missed flying in space) but I still don't have enought skill points! I'll be doing the jedi path for the char slot, so my new char can be a crafter/merchant and my original can be a fighter . It'll take awhile, but the game would be be boring if there wasn't any goals
