5. I can make myself whatever I want, whenever I want it, and have access to *gasp* matching colors
4. There's so many different types of clothing and colors (well for most items) there's endless combinations
3. Getting the resources and components for most products is easy
2. I love getting my combat friends interested in clothing and making cool outfits
1. Running my shop...I hated seeing tailor shops that had vendors with only 50 items ina few colors. I love when people send me emails or tell me how great my shop is...and I've only begun!

Yeah, I got it - that was one of the best tv commercials ever!
My top five for being a tailor:
1. Clothes at any given momentfor myself and my friends.
2. Getting to craft, which is a nice break from my PvE main toon, without the headache of needing uber resources.
3. Havinghappy customers who keep coming back, and referring me to others. I work mostly through custom orders, so getting items just as the customer wants is very satisfying.
4. Enjoying the challenge of coming up with unique outfits. My new line of kilts is a big hit.
5. Despite the lack of dev luv, I still have fun being a tailor and will continue to do so ![]()

1. Tailors and their friends are the best dressed. Hands down. Everything they wear has a finished, well thought out look, that's not just thrown together.
2. I'm a dancer, and I got tired of not being able to findbottoms to match a top I liked, or vice versa.Problem solved. I can have anything I want in any color now!
3. The social aspect. If you do an order for someone, and they're happy with it, they will return the favor, many times over in most cases.
4. Being able to make special occasion outfits for friends (wedding ensembles, Rebel themed, etc) If you're going to RP, dress like it
5.What other profession can offer payment in clothes?
6. A girl can never have too manyoutfits. Plus when you get tired of what you're wearing, you can just make something else

1. making whatever I want to wear.
2. to cast aside on a whim something in not quite the right shade or texture and try out whatever I need to get that perfect ensemble
3. being able to request clothing knowledgably on another server with a non tailor character.
4.making themed outfits ie mercenary, BH, smuggler, uniformed...
5. Being the first in line to receive a pair of bright green uniform boots if we ever get the full pallete on all items.

And, gee, I thought this was gonna be a positive post about why you love being a tailor.
Okay, I'll go first:
1) Is there more to life than being really really really really really ridiculously good-looking? Making your own stuff is key.
2) Making other people happy, making friends and influencing people! How big is your friends list? How long would it take you to locate a dancer to buff you or a CH to train your pet?
3) Creating new looks from set patterns. Halloween costumes, anyone?
4) Social events! All the RP'ers wanna look sooooo good - and buy their girlfriends presents too. We love presents. We love RP'ers. We love being invited to every party or wedding. Go us!
5) Interior design - nobody can get as creative as a tailor with skirts and whatnot.
6) - 10) HAWTPANTS
IWISH my tailor could find more RP events
Sadly, Ahazi just isn't to big on RP.
1. being able to go out and look for resources and NOT having to try and squeeze your own harvesters in among everyone else's and their brother's havesters, because resourse quality doesn't matter.
2. (a personal for me, and maybe some others) Helping nicenewbies be able to have something much better then awfulstarting clothes.
3. Meeting new people, because for every one person that is rude or mean, there are at least 3 nice, decent people, and you never know who will become a good and maybe helpeful aquaintance.(can you tell Im really into the social aspect of tailor?)
4. Agree with some of the others who posted about being able to make on the spot an outfit Im inspired to make, but along the same lines, helping my good friends do the same.
5. /agree with NJ- HAWTPANTS and alot of the female entertainer type clothes(fleshwrap, leotard...)
Yes there are reasons that can make tailor not so fun, certain aspects that are random or just game mechanics, however, that isnt what this thread is about.

1. I was spending all of my money on clothes.
2. I was bored of being an all combat type.
3. No experimentation or resource quality.
4. My (old) guild needed a tailor.
5. I loved making my own outfits, even when I only had Domestic Arts 2 and like 5 colors lol

1. I love making newbies (especially entertainers) feel good by giving them a neat outfit.
2. I love my guild so they all look cool because of me.
3. I love the feel of making someone look just how they want -- rangerish, jedi-ish, sexy, cool, loner, etc.
-- When the customer is nice, and I get the look right, I get a big smile on my face!
4. I used to fight (Did Tk, Swordsman, etc) and I really didn't like the pressure -- Now I can log on just for fun.
5. No experimentation -- I hate having to find the BEST resources for ANYTHING. Tailoring is so much more relaxing.
All in all, Tailoring and Merchant are the best professions I have tried.

1. Its awesome to be able to make your char look sharp and different from everyone else (I mean, who doesn't wear only comp these days?)
2. its one of the easiest crafting profs to get into and make money at, and doesn't require uber resource hunting
3. you spend a lot of time talking to others, making friends, and not worrying about "I should be surveying or killing"
4. you get to mix and match until things look right to you, to create your perfect look (my doctor actually has surgical scrubs, white gloves and shoes, and a bloody coat from a long day on the ward)
5. you are always in demand from people trying to ditch their armor and be creative with their toons and the game!
6. (since 4 is like 1) I really thought I would hate it, but once you try it, you'll love it!!

Aaaaahahahahahaha! I love that one!
Hmm... I'd have to say...
- I don't have to beg other tailors to make what I want.
- I can help support my guild's Armorsmith, Chef and Bio-Engineer
- ... AND not have to worry about resource qualities.
- My other character's an mID, so I'm my guild's full-service Image Consultant.
- The kind of visibility a TAILOR generates doesn't get you listed on BH terms!

i'm new to swg, have only been playing for a very short time. but i love being tailor. i wish there were more color sellections on say boots...i'd like to have some red boots to match my red shorts hehe and a cloak to match that
of course, but my reasons for being a tailor...
1. topless cloaks
2. shorts
3. boots to match
4. i love meeting people. i have a nice clientle base. yes i get tells, but if i'm not in my workshop they email me
5. i love to look good
6. i love making my sister, brother and hubby look good in game too.
7. the friends i've made keep coming and coming and coming.
8. hehe image designers
they change someone's hair and eyes and even lekku and then they have to come to me to match a suit to that
9. it's free. lol i don't have to buy a stitch or have anyone make it for me.
10. i'm not an official hawtpants gal, but um HOTPANTS!!!!

All these reasons have already been said, but just so the original poster realizes that there is nothing better than being a tailor:
1. You get to make yourself clothes - no matter what. Whip out the droid. So your clothes get hurt when ambushed by some maulers while you're harvesting, etc. So what? Destroy them, make some more. So someone wants "exactly" what you're wearing. Sell it to them, and make some more
2. Making clothes for other people. I try to *never* walk around in composite. And I berate those who do (in my guild away)
Flash the tag, say "Dear, let me make something for you." People love to be pampered.
3. No resource requirements. And by that I mean, you can drop a harvester anywhere, and get what you need, no hassles.
4. I dropped tailor on my main because I needed the skillpoints for (very sekret profession) and missed it so much, barely two days later I was working my way up on my alt. There is no reason not to love it - and get addicted to it
5. Hawtpants!
*plug for me* Being MID on main, and Tailor (with Furniture line of Architect) means that my 'company' *Style By Design* really means I style and design everything

1. Being able to make my clothes and have the EXACT colors I want them.
2.Seeing my customers so happy when they get new clothes and knowing that I did it
3. Being able to make my guildees and friends clothes and seeing them wear them!
4. Not needing to worry about all these resource stats and shifts.
5. Clothes are a girl's best friend

OMG, I'd have a harder time finding 5 reasons NOT to be a Tailor than TO be one
(Some of these may be repeats, don't hate cuz I imitate
)
1. Don't have room in your inventory? Just delete clothes! You can make 'em again later anyway, and it's not like you're now out a fortune
2. OOOOoooooo.... the COLORS!!
3. BE Clothing is widely used, yet demand outweighs supply (on my server, anyway). It's nice to have your own little niche which provides me a steady income
4. "Let's get ready to look SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!" Making people all the pretty clothing is just so much fun. Crafting is just not a chore for me, it's my fun.
5. And don't get me wrong, I'm sooo wanting some new clothing, but, even with the clothing we have, I'm ALWAYS finding new outfits to make!
6.-10. SHORTS, not Hawtpants
