Thread: Top 5 Reason to be a TAILOR !!

I've thought about it for a while and I could not come up with even 3 good reasons to become a tailor.....however, many people are tails and I am sure they all have their good reasons to be so.......
What are your 5 best reasons to be a Tailor?

And, gee, I thought this was gonna be a positive post about why you love being a tailor.
Okay, I'll go first:
1) Is there more to life than being really really really really really ridiculously good-looking? Making your own stuff is key.
2) Making other people happy, making friends and influencing people! How big is your friends list? How long would it take you to locate a dancer to buff you or a CH to train your pet?
3) Creating new looks from set patterns. Halloween costumes, anyone?
4) Social events! All the RP'ers wanna look sooooo good - and buy their girlfriends presents too. We love presents. We love RP'ers. We love being invited to every party or wedding. Go us!
5) Interior design - nobody can get as creative as a tailor with skirts and whatnot.
6) - 10) HAWTPANTS

my reasons were somewhat different.. although 6-10 are pretty much the same 
- I got sick of being a TKM/BE... so I picked up tailor to compliment BE
- There really wasnt a strong tailor market on my server for BE clothes... and the BE clothes you did find were fruity monstrosities, thats why I started my "All Black BE'd Clothing Line" ($_$)
- could never find the outfit I was looking for.. nowI make my own outfits
- I didnt think I'd like being a tailor... till the first day of master, I found my home that day as a mBE/mTailor. I loose sleep at nightover JTL... not because of the ship or whatever, but the anticipation of new clothes (I'm not in beta, though I wish I was)
- last, tailor is just cool. I can't describe it, its just cool.

1) Let a friend of mine play this toon and she made it a tailor, I came back and started usin it and was like damn this is fun.
2) U get to use all the colors not the same 4 everyone else uses 
3) I like to chill and talk with people and this is a great profession for it
4) U get to make people look dam good
5) Its hard to explain I never thought I would like it but now I cant stop I just cant

1. I like banging my head against the wall repeatedly
2. I like clothes
3. As a bothan it's hard to find clothes if I don't make them for myself
4. I like carpel tunnel syndrome
5. No experimenting

- Finding out that the resource shift fortatooine fiberplast is OQ 4 doesn't make you scream. Instead you smile knowingly, waiting for everyone to dump it on the bazaar for 1cpu or less.
- When you are sick of your clothes, you delete them and pull out your droid to make something new
- There is NO such thing as being over/underdressed at any time
- When you see another purple twi'lek wearing the exact same thing, you can fix that in 40 seconds
- Watching gun-bunnies grovelling as they bring you a +19 2hand Accuracy/+22 2hand speed/+20 counterattack/+18 Ranged defense/+4 melee defense/+18 stun defense shirt and start kissing your toes and begging you to fix it when it is at 120/1000 condition
- NO Subsubsubsub components!! Synth,Trim,Reinforced Fiber Panels, Metal Fasteners, and Jewelry settings are fast to make and last a loooong time.
- Hawtpants rule
- Our forums arefilled withthe friendliest and finest people!!!
- TWI'LEK Headgear RULES!!! (Oh, maybe that's a twi'lek thing) I love making all the twi'lek hats, and every customer thinks that tailors are the best because of them...
- We have the power to get customers to see that there are more colours than Black, White, Red

1: It's just plain FUN! 
2: I get to be creative in things I create
3: I have met great people being a tailor
4: An endless personal wardrobe 
5: I can make anybody look good (well.. almost) 
6: It has to be said again, Tailors are great, I am proud to be a part of the community, and try to live up to a high standard 
I still do not mess with hawtpants tho... sorry

Here is what is fun about being a tailor. Trying to get a Wookie to look presentable. I know...sometimes that is an insurmountable feat, what with the lack of good wookie schematics, and the fact that they can't really anything really bright, can be daunting. I'd like to see how a Best Dressed Wookie show would do. Local tailors round up their fav wookies and have them model our outfits we design for them. Wookies need some extra love, you know.

1. I Can change my lookwhenever i wish.
2. Most customers are entertainers, or people who care as much about their appearance as i do, lots of nice people to make friends with.
3. I am not limited by the poorly stocked vendors that seem to prevail(only a few exceptions im learning are 4 months into playing on this server)
4.you can be creative in making new outfits and costume sets etc.
5. Addiction value, i cannot be alone in this (altho im often ridiculed for it by friends) but this is the only crafting proffession i have done where i can just keep comming up with new and interesting idea's. It never gets old, i never stop making clothes, every single day i make 30- 200 ish items of clothing and have done for about a year. (first on valcyn, now on farstar) my second proffession has changed a few times, but its just not possible to drop tailor.
Another point: Tailor combined with ID (my setup since christmas) is just awsome. Not only can i get people wearing items they want, but i often give them a makeover too,customersoften leave looking like peices of artwork

1) I can make my own synth cloth, fibreplast panels, armour padding etc. and keep my little brother in trim for his brandy casks
2) I can make a good living selling BE clothing with the BE tissues my other brother makes
3) I can keep my girlfriend in new clothes to match her latestlook (can you sense a family theme here ?)
4) I can create any sort of look for the merchants vendors in my guild - highly visible vendors attract more custom I believe
5) I get given all the rare schematics for tailors and the components to make them (from guildies)
6) the people here are just as nice as those in the Ranger forum
7) I get to create disgusting clothing with riculous names and roflmao when people buy them (recently sold a warm hat in purple - called "Purple Helmet !!" for 2k to a character called 'Godess')
8) No Hawtpants
9) Absolutely no Hawtpants
10) I repeat - NO HAWTPANTS !!!!

1. Being able to change your outfit on a whim is fun. If I see someone wearing what I have on, or wearingan ensembleI never thought of, I can whip up a new outfit in a heartbeat. Ta da.
2. Resources quality? Wazzat? Heh heh heh.
3. Black is soooo yesterday. Lookiee here...
4. Fleshtone hawtpants and tactical skinsuits. Ooo la la.
5. Customers buy because they want it, not because they need it.

1. Svimvear, very nice.... Eveningvear, very nice... (hope someone gets this)
2. I was tired of running all over the server matching clothes to make the perfect outfit, so I decided to make them myself.
3. I spend a lot of time in the cantina's anyway, seemed fitting and gave me something to do by popping up the Master Tailor title. You know how many Twi'lek dancers love me?
4. I've never been a combat type, but a socialite. I can still socialize withmy combat type friends, because they come to me for new shirts and to bring me free heavy leather and such. I really don't think I've paid for a single loot schematic or heavy leather or clasp or anything since day 1.
5. The response you get when you make a great new outfit for a newbie entertainer. I gave a guy 300k worth of BE clothes last night for free and he told everyone who came into the cantina for the rest of the night what I great guy I was. I tend to sit in the Theed cantina (Wanderhome) and make outfits for the entertainers and just give them to them. I'm not into this for the money.
...Damn only 5? I forgot to mention Dancer's leotards and fleshwraps and of course hawtpants...
