I haven't had that experience with +25 assembly and my WS quality resources but I will try again to see if something changed.

Is this a recent thing?
In the past I've experimented with using different quality resources and it's never made a jot of difference. I tend to take very careful note of sockets because I don't sell anything with less than 2 - even in my BE line, less than 2 sockets go straight in the bin ... except of course those pesky items which never have any.
What I do find is that I'll get one 4 socket items every 8 or soattempts (on a bad day it may take 12 -15 attempts). But I'll suddenly hit a run where, on a single item, I'll get 4 or 5single or nosocket items in a rowbut then I seem to get over the rut.
If it's a custom order and the person asks for 4 sockets then I explain that they'll have to pay for failed attempts. This has never been a problem. In the good old days when tailors could craft BE items, I sometimes told people that I would guarantee 3 sockets at no extra charge but wouldn't waste tissue trying to get 4 sockets (but I only do this if I'm short of tissues).
While it's very frustrating at times, I'm not that bothered by the whole 4 socket thing. I kinda like the fact that the crafting is a bit quirky. I like to hand-craft everything I do so it's nice to be able to look at an item and say "yep, that was worth the crafting, that's a really classy piece".
But not being able to craft BE items and having the "disappearing colour" phenomenon (where I have to fiddle around to get the colours that have vanished off my screen .... because my scroll wheel on my mouse won't bring the hidden lines up) are well and truly guaranteed to get my blood boiling.
Having said all that, if you've found a way of nearly always getting 4 socket items then you could just be my newest hero! ![]()

I'd rather give up tailoring for the public than to resort to "needing" quality resources for something so simple as sockets. That's why I gave up AS.. too much of a hassle. Hassle = not fun.Not fun = work. I get paid to work. If SOE wants to start paying me to play... LOL then I'm all for it.
The trick is high OQ subcomponents. This has been my experience for months.

subcomponant quality does not matter
after two yrs of this from useing extremly great resources to junk
do not waste your time and effort competeing for stats which have zero effect on the product.

This is my experience. I've been a tailor for a long, long time (first profession). I fumbled around trying to get sockets for 6 months, believing that tailoring didn't requirequality resources (based on the tailoring FAQ). What I am saying is this:
I am a master artisan, master tailor. For 6 months, I crafted and crafted and crafted trying to get sockets. Then, I bought +25 assembly and started using high OQ resources in RFP's,Trim, Synth Cloth, etc. Voila! Ever since, I have been running a 4-socket operation. 99% of the time onmy first craft, I get 4 sockets. No I am not in a research center -- I am not even in a city. No I do not bother with inspiration buffs. Yes I use the best quality crafting station (+44.5). Yes I get the very same results with the crafting station in my droid.
Here's a test I just ran on Crafter Aprons using all OQ 900+ resources and subcomponents (synth cloth) and experimented with hide quality:
Schem 1:
<--> Apron 1 -- OQ 122 hide -- no sockets
<--> Apron 2 -- OQ 122 hide -- 1 socket
<--> Apron 3 -- OQ 1000 hide -- 4 sockets
Schem 2:
<--> Apron 1 -- OQ 1000 hide -- 4 sockets
<--> Apron 2 -- OQ 1000 hide -- 4 sockets
<--> Apron 3 -- OQ 1000 hide -- 4 sockets
Believe me or not. I've postedmy experience with socketsnumerous times and I always get flamed in one way or another. I'm just telling you guys what I've encounter in the tailoring profession throughout months and months of crafting. If you are not worried about sockets, then use w/e quality resources you want. But, as experienced on naritus for the past year, everyone wants 4 sockets.
Noone has flamed you, but when the Devs state that there is nothing we currently do ingame that has an effect on sockets,

most may tend to believe that there is nothing that affects sockets.
I'm going to test this out when I get ingame too!

Neither do I except when they say something is infact not working

Eh... After proving that the devs have in fact lied to the community, I don't put all my trust into their words anymore.
