Thread: An Open Letter from Your Tailor
Oh wonderful wonderful post.
I especially liked the truth to the last couple of paragraphs.
I don't even have time to play my alternate character for the peace and quiet i need to stay sane. LOL too many orders and need to stock my vendors. LOL
A must read post really. Kudos

As long as we're picking nits.... Leia's marines in Star Wars (the movie that started it all, which the revisionists call ANH or Episode IV) wore black, while the boarding Stormtroopers wore white.... something I always took as a cool reversal of the traditional formula.
Then again, it probably just provided dramatic contrast for the primaries, who wore the traditional good guy/bad guy colors.
The hardest thing for a tailor tho, is explaining a color restriction. .... I finally took a screenshot of the full palette, the restricted palette, and the really restricted palette just to post on my guildboard so they understood.
It's the very first thing on my web page (www.infamousbrad.com/swg) after the shop location, too. Actually, I have five color palette screenshots up, what I call Standard, Accessory (limited), Leather (super-limited), Jewelry (which is the Standard palette that I've manually darkened by -128 gamma), and Metal.
Of course, that doesn't help if someone hasn't seen the web page.
You know what I need to add, or better yet some master tailor needs to add, to the copy of this that was in the SWG Discussion forum? A better answer than I can give to the question, "Do your items have slots?"
In my personal case, it's "only on the Artisan level clothes." As my sig says, I've only got Tailoring 1. So I obviously don't know how many boxes you need in Tailoring before you start getting slots, or how many slots, or on what items. Which frustrates some of my customers (especially wookiees) even more than it frustrates me.
I seem to get something in the neighborhood of:
0 sockets: 20%
1 socket : 60%
2 sockets: 20%
I don't believe I've ever created anything with more than 2, except for the Rugged Jackets that seem to be using the Artisan numbers....
Excellent post! (rofl 'caveman drag')I keep my Master Tailor flag up all the time, and if I'm out hunting I'll make a special afk message that says I'm out for the night and to go check the shop or send orders by email. Even so, I get the most inane questions sometimes!!!
I am well known enough now, that when I log in I get about 4 or 5 tells right off the bat and I have to juggle several conversations before I even take a step. I don't mind the tells but I wish people would give me 30 mintues to breathe when I log in LOL.
The hardest thing for a tailor tho, is explaining a color restriction. Not all clothes come in the full palette. I will often get a order for a full outfit, only to find that the belt or skirt or boot doesn't quite come in the same shade of green or blue and explaining this to a non-tailor is very hard. I finally took a screenshot of the full palette, the restricted palette, and the really restricted palette just to post on my guildboard so they understood.
Hey Nivea, you master of webpage....that would be a great addition to your site actually!!
