Take some time to decide whether you really want to go back. Many people choose not to join a PA. You shouldn't have to admit you were wrong and grovel, and promise to do better next time if it wasn't your fault in the first place.

I'm just spiteful because if a guild kicked me out arbitrarily, I would never come back, unless those responsible were gone, preferably (in-game) killed.

I guess I'm very lucky with my guild. It's the only guild I've been in and I've been with those guys for well over a year now. I'm actually unoffically the leader since our current leader(my ig hubby) has quit for the time being. My guild doesn't expect anything from it's crafters, but combat types try to hook them up when they can and vice versa. Mostcrafters give a 20% guild discount. Depending on what guild members are asking for what, I'll give away free be clothing, aprons, etc. At it's high point my guild was fairly large, so I don't give the entire guild things for free.

Here's my view on the situation, coming from someone that wentfrom anobody to basically one of the people that holds the guild together. (It fell apart when two leaders and I took a month off to play WoW )This alsoreally depends on what type of guild you have of course.

As a leader, the most annoying guild members are the kind that only type in /gu when they need something. For me the entire point of a guild is to make friends and allies. This is best done through /gu. I became one of the most well known guildmembers by constantly chatting/joking around in /gu. I'm always willing to help anyguildie however, I will take shuttles from the edge of Dathomir to Lok if it's a good guild mate...if it's a not so great member they'll only get my best advice. I doubt this is the case with you, Chiana, as you are always polite and helpful on here, but you may want to think about chatting more and getting to know your guildies and to let them get to know you.

You have plenty to offer a pa, and it doesn't have to be in tangible goods. Your shining, sweetpersonalilty is the best thing anybody can bring...it's not a matter of profession. If it is a matter of profession, your guild leaders that removed you sound rather selfish. I'd reevaluate and see if that's a guild you really want to be in or if you could find a better group of friends that will appreciate what you bring to the guild. A guild that can't see the need for a tailor...psh!

LOL That is what I was thinking... but I don't wanna move all my stuff!

Well if you're on good terms with the player city (and it depends how many guilds are in your player city) there is no reason to move your stuff if you choose not to rejoin.

There are always options! Even if the options include recruiting a few friends on a Saturday to bite the bullet and move your stuff.

It really has a lot to do with the guild leadership or lack thereof. It is the officers job to make members of a PA feel wanted, and useful.

What I did as a Tailor for my PA was institute, craft, issue, PA uniforms. Uniforms are not required but all members are expected to wear them at Guild functions, Meetings, and when representing the guild. I also instituted PA awards for (Service, Achievment, and Honor), which I also craft.

This has had a couple effects that I was pretty sure they would.

1. It emphasised the value of the Tailor Profession

2. It increased Espirit de' corps to a level that I have only seen once before in another MMOG.

3. It has made us easily recognizable (many members run around in uniform all the time).

4.It has underlined the PA structure we have by giving all members something to strive for (awards).

5. Increased visibility of officers and in so doing has created an implicit importance with the rank.

6. Has created a sense of ceremony with our guild meetings, thus increasing importance, atmosphere etc. (Officers wear robes at meetings, otherwise same uniform as everyone else outside meetings excepting the yellow officer stripe instead of white member stripe on thier pants).

So now when we promote a person to an officer position we call it "Getting their stripe".

Now I was able to pull this off because I was the guild founder and now function as the XO, but Im sure that any involved Guild Leader would jump at the offer of well made and nice looking uniforms.

Took me a couple weeks to make all the parts. A couple days of factory time just to make components. Then about a day for each piece. I had to make Uniforms for 92 member + any new recruits. I did a Male, Female, Wookie, Ithorian version.

I first made prototypes and displayed them in the PA hall for a week (while I was making components) and had the members themselves vote on what one they liked best.

I must say it was a smashing success. You should have seen the reaction when after our guild meeting I took everyone there on a "Meet and Greet" tour through Mos Eisley, Coronet, and Theed. Was pretty cool seeing so many uniformed members. Ive taken a ton of screenies that I will eventually post somewhere.

Much has been said, most of it in better english than I can write in, so I would like to throw in just a few thoughts:

  • Choosing a guild (or not) in SWG seems to be the key to the gaming fun.
If you like to live the lufe as "lone wolf", do so, if you hunger for the sozial aspectes a guild may provide, choose wisely.

  • I used to hang around several player cities before i decided to offer my services to that guild

  • As a tailor, I am much more satisfied with a guild, which isnt too much into "bigger-is-better" hunting and/or PVP

  • Our guild on the other hand got too few hunters though ... That's why my 2. toon took up a combat profession

My saying is: Love it, change it or leave it.

Recreational time is scarce to mess around with guildies you dont like. There are others out there, maybe even on another server. I changed my server once, because the old one was full of "gimme-itemz"-kids (no, I wont state the name of that galaxy)

Best wishes and a /thumbsup from

Wow, Chiana *hugs you* so sorry to hear that happened to you my friend In my guild I've been around long around enough that I have quite a collection of hides, resources and components. I've always provided for myself and never really expect anything from others in my guild. It seems like that has always backfired on me...lol.. because we are all such good friends that they are always giving me things anyways...hehe Whether if I'm looking for a very specific resource, or specific hide or some sort of component that may be dropping, there is always someone that will look to see if they have it or keep their eyes open for me. Our guild just tries to help eachother out the best we can *grins* I got lucky...

I have to say I'm with Jessi on this one... I'd have to tell them all to bite me and get the heck out of dodge. But, that's just me.

Mycurrent guild is pretty much dead... and I'm loath to find a new one because I'm so attached to FO (and I'm also the leader, and darn it, I hate the idea of leaving). At best, we've always been a guild of alts... our motto is "50 members, 15 players!" We don't have 'guidelines' or 'applications' or anything like that... basically, if we like you, you're in. People just FIT sometimes, and that's really all we look for. It works well for us, our turnover rate was very low and the only person I ever kicked from the guild was my RL boyfriend, and that's because I had just gotten the ability to remove people and he was a safe bet, as he no longer plays. LOL Sadly, most of our guild members have left the game now. Guildchat's very quiet these days. *snif*

Actually I am very self sufficient as well except the BE tissues and the special loot dropped resources for the village quests. Much of what I asked for was basically coming from the attitude that it is better to ask my guild-mates than look outside the guild.

Several members of the guild were really po'ed when they saw what had happened and all came to my support. I doubt I will rejoin only because if I can't be myself and feel comfortable then I don't want to be with them. I am who I am... take it or leave it.

What do you bring to your PA to make a difference? I was removed from my PA so quickly that my head is spinning. They said I was always asking for things in guild chat. If I was, I didn't realize it. I would do anything within my limited abilities to do anything for them but I just couldn't do much, most of them have several accounts, share accounts and so forth. I couldn't join in group hunts or find eggs in lairs because I don't have any combat skills.

So, now that I am in shock and quite sad, what do you other tailors bring to your PA to make it better?? Obviously I did something wrong!

wow - I can't imagine!

my tailor is in a FABULOUS guild on Tarquinas - a quirky conglomeration of mostly entertainers and crafters, mostly roleplayers. Everyone is helpful. We have like 4 master tailors in the guild (one girl only makes black clothing! too cool) and yet i still seem to do buisiness. People share resources, share ideas. This is my idea of a guild. I am so sorry this happened to you. But don't lose hope - not all guilds are like that I can assure you!

I am who I am... take it or leave it.

You can't please everyone, no matter how nice, polite, and accomodating you are. And I still maintain my original thought that adults will sit down with you and explain that they don't like something rather than booting you out and then telling you why. (Whether they are irrational in their dislike is a separate issue from the duty to tell you.)

Imagine if your boss at work fired you because you had left your dirty coffee mug in the break area every day and it got on her last nerve. You'd think it was ridiculous because she should have told you about the mug. If she had told you, you would have removed it. And, which I think is passive-aggressive, your boss allowed you to continue to leave your coffee mug out, and annoy her every day, because then in firing you she could say "well Akaara always leaves out her coffee mug, I mean every frickin day" instead of giving you a chance for correction. Her silence is intentionally sabotaging you.

You see why this is lame? If you go back, don't feel that you have to sit around biting your nails, secretly afraid to do something, or continually do something, that pisses off someone. If it's not in the guild rules, nobody tells you about it, and it's not something utterly smacktardish, how are you supposed to know what is "good" and what is "bad"?

Be glad you were booted from that guild.

Obviously they do not appreciate what you can bring into it ( I have been told many times by my customers that tailorsare hard to find ), and if there was a problem, they certainly did not handle it in a mature way.

I am the only tailor in my guild andI do not havea lot ofrequests from my fellow guildies. But in my opinion, a guild is about people helping one another and TALKING to each other. I like my guild, "Mafia", as there are a lot of good people in it and it's nice to talk to them especially when sitting around bored. It sounds like the guys from your former guild just want numbers for bragging rights or,if it's in a city, a body count so they can have that elusive shuttleport.

Keep trying, you'll find one you like.

As a master tailor/merchant on Starsider. I find that I do very well on my own with no guild at all, I dont have a faction either since there is really no need for one since I have no combat. I have lots of friends that are either customers and/or suppliers. I also find that having no faction helps sales because I dont cater to just Rebels or Imperials, I cater to everyone. I pay rangers to get me hide and BE to get me tissues and what not. I re-stock once a week, 2X if I have time and pull in about 500-700k a week without having a guild. I also play on Eclipse server where I joined a PA and faction and have some combat so I can do things with the guild. I find this combination of the 2 on the 2 seperate servers works very well for me. If I want to craft log on the tailor and if I want to interact with the PA and whatnot log on Eclipse server.
