and no matter what colors we have it would be very nice to have #s on them to track better

(#s on pallette then the color #s on clothes when examined, so people could actually say that blue #67 and mean that blue)

Have to agree here, I have all my clothing colour numbered as well as named as it makes it so much easier for someone to pick out items that (more-or-less) match and it makes replacements later on so much easier

Although I know if our palettes change all my current numbers will become useless

I *agree* as well.

If whatever color we choose to craft an item, it would be awesome if there was a way that the color was numbered and crafted into the item maybe in a way that if we examine it we would be able to see the color # choosen for that particular item.

It's always hard to match colors when you are crafting something that someone else may have made, or is looted, etc. I don't know how much time, resources and aggravation that I've spent sitting there eyeing up stuff to try and match it to a tee.

I think I've gone deliously mad when it comes to trying to match things. I'll make it and then re-make it in every shade until I find that exact one lol

we do name clothes now, some even use reference sites to refer to for color lables/marked tables, but the point being is we should not have to place values into lables to match color in the future.

a system which shows the color value in inspect or examine itself would by far be more functional then us typeing it in ourselves (imagine how many will miskey a # and not notice til 'matching' it later)

being able to click colors off a table allows us to see the color in veiw without such minor 1value tweeking

don't get me wrong,I want the full allowance a RGB box would give us for color, especially after watching friend play RAWvsWAR on PS2..full slider tint box for everything {including teeth} and print/texture overlay up the wazoo for outfits~oh it made me dream of such a system in SWG..*drool*

Well, if we ignore the slider option, cause I doubt we'll get it for a long time. You are saying that the the information already attached to an item, namely the color, should show up in an examine window with the rest of the useless information?

That's a pretty good idea. A shirt for example, already has its color information stored with it so that both you and other players can see it at the corect color. There would be no added load to the database at all, maybe a slightly increased load when the examine window is loaded. (actually it shouldn't change anything. since it has to load the infoto display the shirt)If it came up with the shirts full palette and the actual color of the shirt was highlighted, it would be beyond easy to match stuff and then people could quit naming stuff "Casual Shoes a5, c15" and use my current naming system of "casual shoe blue".

I guess after that, thye could give us the big master palette for everything instead of the great "Shades of Mud" palette we have on so many items. Then follow that up with the rgb sliders and change the examine window to show the rgbvalues as opposed to the graphical color display for matching purposes.
