Well i wouldnt say it was on the same level as armoursmiths or the like, but if you do bio eng clothes you can deffinatly end up with a tidy sum after a while, i stoped counting my money a long time ago however it is a slow proccess, and really there are many times that you know you are doing it out of enjoyment and not for money. If money is your main concern i would reccomend a different proffession, however if you enjoy making clothes, put in a lot of time and effort you can end up more than rich eventually

If you're really after money just get an elite fighting profession, it will be faster for less work.

The best way to get rich in this game without expending much energy is to harvest high quality weaponsmith, armorsmith and medical resources, and sell them to people at outrageous prices. If you get 10 heavy harvesters down on a decent resource for like a week, that's like 3 million credits right there, at least. If you're willing to wait a while, and sell a little at a time, you can get anywhere up to 100 cpu for something rare and in high demand, like good nabooian fiberplast, or phrik aluminum.

Tailoring is pretty fun though.

Indeed, I didnt become Tailor to get rich as it were, though I do like having money I became a Tailor because I *love* making my own clothes. I like to have tons of different outfits and it was getting hard on mu budget but my Tailor at the time was probably making some nice credits off me

Most of my money comes from resource sales which has been mentioned and I have a very successful collectible vendor (shameless plug: -1367 -4518 Naboo, BHSS city) Its mainly my collectible vendor that provides me with the funds to stock up on the limited schematics and components

My advice to making money off Tailor has already been stated here, use the bazaar, use the bazaar, use the bazaar Tho Its usually full of resources from me, when I do put clothes up, they sell quickly especially because I list them in Theed and Coronet which as we all know has cantinas packed like sardines.

There is also the Merchant Tent, My shop is not in a prime location but I have a nice enough customer base that I wouldnt consider moving. I am thinking of setting up a Merchant Tent in a high profile area and that may be something youd like to try as well.

Advertise =) I dont anymore, but every time I ran through a city, I'd shout a blurb about my shop and its contents, *ONCE*. I personally hate the afk spammers who every theirty seconds repeat the same blurb and they immediately get added to my ignore list so spamming is not good advertising in my opinion. However and this may just be me, If I see someone shout about their shop but not spam, I am more likely to write down that waypoint and go check it out.If I like the place it becomes a permanent wp in my datapad =)

Customer Service - Whenever someone buys my item off the bazaar, I send them a single mail thanking them and describing my shop, inviting them to browse if theyre interested. I get a lot of business this way and many of my repeat customers will refer other people to me, etc.

Basically, if youre just in it to make money, people are right, its tough, BUT, if you become a Tailor because you love the profession and enjoy what you do even on slow days, this attitude reflects in your dealings with people and can lead to great business =)

I have about 30 million credits in the bank right now. However, I have been playing since release so it's not a get rich quick type of deal. Most of the money I make is actually from weddings. I don't charge much for my weddings but normally players end up tipping me from 1 to 5 million credits for the wedding. I also made quite a bit from selling vehicles when they first came out and from selling the aprons (800k each).

I wanted to add in that right now I am burned out from tailoring and took a long break (2 weeks) off. I still feel burned out but it's slowly going away. Having alot of credits in the bank sometimes makes you lazy

I reached Master Tailor back in January and have made just over 2 million since then. Most of it has come from the special schematic aprons and selling full runs of components for armorsmiths. My regular clothing line does well, though most of my money there comes from generous tips for working with my clients on custom orders. I've also recently started selling clothing packages for other people's vendors, and that does well.

The money in Tailor is in Bio Engineered clothes.

If you keep a stock of different clothing your regulars alone will provide you with lots and lots of money.

I have a customer that spends 50k a day a few days a week no problem.

As far as other clothing goes, get a rep for having a lot of stock and you can sell for a good price rather than rock bottom. every little bit helps =)

My cash flow usually sits at around the 5mill mark and lately i've become a little lazy with my tailoring skillsso yes it is possible.. However, most of my money comes from selling moderate ammounts of high qualityresources , then bio-clothing, then regular clothing, then speical loot items.

Planning a business strategy is very important if you want to make goodmoney from tailoring. The most i've made in a day through vendor sales of normal clothing is around 90k, i'm sure better tailors thanme make a lot more than this. If you're going for vendor sales thenlocation is very important as people don't tend togo shopping just for clothing, it's more of an "oh I'll go check out that tailor's vendorsafter I govisit that weaponsmith's tent", so I have my vendors intwo of the most popular 'shopping'cities on my server and each clothing vendor is always stocked with 200+ items, (understocked vendors annoy mesoooo muchwhen i go shopping). Another thing you can do is place clothes on the bazaar for cheap with your name plastered all over it, I've gotten requests to make guild uniforms this way, and I used to email every customer the waypoints to my vendors andthank them. But like I said I've gotten lazy

Bio-Clothing can be veryprofitable, but shopping for tissueshas always beenan issue for me as I think it's more profitable for BE's to supply med and chef components.

Since you have master rifleman you should have no problem soloing nightsisters to get the looted heavy leather/clasps. I went out with a buddy the last two night and we got 9 identical clasps and 2 identical leather, as well as someother very very nice NS loot,if you amassan excessof the clasps/leatheryou could probably make a nice profit on them if they're in-demand on your server.

I started my tailor Miss Sunni Daye of SunniStyle funkness from close to day one of the games release, and I left in October, I had a few millions, luckily I was one of a handful of bright eyed tailors on the server and BUSINESS WAS GOOD....ahh the old days - great except for having to run to D. Guerfell to get trained every box! So, back then I would do insane things to make money like invent cool names for items and sell them for outrageous prices on the bazaar, such as making a white with red stripe admin. robe and renaming it Doctor's Robe and getting more money for it (sorry to anyone who ever fell for that ...) Then I got all technical and started coloring my names to match the colors of the item. Customers ahoyhoy! Then I could use the BE tissues and the no fail 3, but mostly 4 sockets as a selling point(even though at the time it was apparentlybroken but people still bought it up like crazy waiting for it to be fixed ). I tried to be original, and courteous, and spend time with the customers. I'm sure I was just like any other tailor who loved their job. But the 16 hour days was kinda interferring with real life...bummer! So I quit the game cold turkey and lost my house, my clothes, my resources. UGh! No wait, I should add that I deleted Sunni & her money and stuff,in a huff, and remade Violent and got back up to master again before I quit and lost every thing all over again.

Anyways I just came back a couple of weeks ago, and Iwas just doing HORRIBLY... until a few days ago! Found a town, set up shop there, but no one came by to buy anything, I did a bit of custom, but mostly ended up giving alot of stuff away.I am really pissed off that I can't use colors in the item name anymore. I started noticing that people were selling their clothes with the bio stuff in it. So I found myself a budding BE and we went into business together, Ibought him cheap stuff to grind, and he bought HQ stuff to make me tissues. I still don't sell a damn thing in my house but I make potentially 100ish K a day selling my stuff in teh bazaar terminal just outside the Coronet Cantina. It's all Wound Healing Music + Dancing stuff, I sell colored hotpants where I can stack up the stats, Jeans, you name it. I put them on the bazaar and sell em for 6k. Then I go into the cantina and comment on the shiatload of enhanced items i just put in the bazaar, the hologrinders stampede to the terminal... mommy gets rich......thank god for crafting driods...amen.

If you wanna get 'rich' tailoring you just gotta get your butt out there and be different. And maybe you won't make Zillions, but if you are in it for the proffession and not just to get to your next profession thru a grind, you will not really need millions of dollars, i mean a house can only hold so many funky decorations and expensive trinkets. I get more fun out of trying to make my store original and decorating it, than counting my dollars, although its kinda neat to have the cash to save up for that dream spaceship.

ROFL yeah i used to do that too .. I'd sell smocks like crazy by renaming them "ninja outfits".. make black ones with red belts and itbecame "Evil Ninja Outfit".. white ones with blackbelts were "Elite blackbelt Ninja Outfits".. the Administrator robes I'd do black and White and hey presto "Witches Robe"... Desert Command Jackets would sell like crazy too lol...Actually, I might spendthe week stocking the bazaar again lol

Lol have to laugh at so much of what i'm reading as i've done most of it too... I have to say it's frustrating as people generally don't think your craft is 'worth' much... unless it has enhancements which I gave up on (BE still gives me nightmares lol) One thing i have to say is make sure you tell people up front what the cost will be... I am guilty of being the happy go lucky girl who crafts her butt off and then nearly dies when ppl say things like 'So 10k is good for these 8 guild uniforms you just made right?' I find it funny that most men find prices too high, yet women seem to be willing to pay... so be prepared to defend yourself if people flip out on you for asking say 5k for a healer's robe. Explain to them how many factory fabricated items go into things, sometimes that helps lol..

It is a lot of work but can be very fun too.. If you are in it for the money I suggest the BE route or the buying many factories and mass producing componants as several here have mentioned.. I'll be honest and tell you that i have never broken a million (started tailor in january) I give too much away lol..

Good luck

And FYI the 0 equipping bug is slated to be fixed in patch 10, so expect a small boost in business Realistically though, unless you deal in BE clothing, the majority of the clothing is for dancers/social events and will not decay. Ah well, it's on the list.

I can do 2-3 million a week all you need is make tons of BE clothes. That means you need starting money to get the tissues
