Thread: Why does almost EVERYONE want a cloak or duster?

I just reached field 3 and started actively trying to sell things on the Bazaar for the first time. In two days Ive sold 3 black spec op dusters and 2 camo ones. Here's the surprising thing though, I've sold 6 Desert Command Jackets, though admitedly 5 of th6 were in black.

Im asking 2600 for the Desert Jackets. How does that compare to average prices?

The only time I bother with dusters (and subsequently, the only time I've ever worn one) is when I make one of my RotJ Endor outfits. Those are spiffy. Other than that, I just don't see the appeal in the dusters (I mean, look at how they're animated, they look like they're glued to your legs!). I'll take a Pilot's Jacket or a Cold Weather Jacket over a Cloak any day.

I know what you mean. As soon as I was able to make cloaks I got excited, began wearing one myself (I actually do like it) and started selling them in earnest.Selling them at a reasonable price, the money piles up in a huge hurry. It got so thatI'd put a couple in the bazar, hop on a shuttle to another city, and by the time I got there the two that I had just put in the bazar would be sold. Since then I've decided that less if more, and so I only offer maybe 1-2 cloaks a day spread across the 4 different cities that I sell into. I don't want to saturate the market. One really nice discovery that I made though, is that there are several other male clothing items that sell almost as well as cloaks, but that you see much less of, therefore I've been pushing those a lot more lately. Also when I do sell cloaks, I make fewer black ones, pushing other colors instead. Variety is good and this is my way of "fighting back".

i found an easy way around having to make dusters for everyone - or at least making it worth my time to do it...

i jacked the price up- now people either pick something else (which i glady spend the time making absolutely perfect for them) or i get more money out if it if they insist.

odd tho, i don't have as many issues with making gunman's dusters as spec-ops

Stock & Sell those Gunmans & Spec-Ops Dusters, Cloaks and Bounty Hunter and Spec-Ops packs. Those are the items that you can make great money from in the bazaar, and believe me, you'll need it to keep up on all those harvesters

Other good sellers that EVERYONE NEEDS & looks for: Tipless Gloves, Uniform Boots & Belts

i don't understand why tipless gloves use 2 colors rather than just the 1 with transparency like a lot of the other clothing uses - it's quite annoying to try and match skin colors with the horrible light on tatooine

Tipless gloves sell well for you? In "actual" two-tone?

I've pretty much dismissed that item as a loser unless I get a specific request.

Type /examine (or select Examine from the radial menu) to bring up a lighting-exclusive model of the player. It'll allow you to (more) accurately match the skin tone.

Hmm... The one time I tried to match a average-Caucasian-looking skin tone using that method, I couldn't find anything that remotely worked, so I gave up on the idea. Might work better for a lot of the non-human races, I suppose....

Personally i hate the duster/cloak look.

I like the camo pants and muscle shirt. Just wish they had a camo t-shirt or shortsleeve jacket.

Another thing that pisses me off: You can't wear a bandolier/sash with a backpack. guess if you want to actually have some decent storage room you can't have any nice add on-s to your clothes. Completely retarded decision by the Devs. Unless of course the add 50 slots to the Bandolier. then It would be an even trade off.

I put about 3 black cloaks/dusters up for sale a week... The rest I make in the loudest most obnoxious colors I can think of like that orange-melon color, gold, and "puke green" (I name them that and they sell fast... some people are just sick?) as well as lots of white ones. There's a place for white ones. They help distinguish the medics from everyone else and just look more tasteful than black to me.

I proudly talked one of my customers that well.. wanted to look "badass" into a gold with burgundy trim rugged jacket and thin striped pants colored in "old blue" that look like jeans. and a burgundy with gold striped muscle shirt yesterday instead of a crappy old duster. I was happy.
