Yeah i had this too.. i finally made a tailor crafting apron just for experimenting with padded armor, and it comes out with only2 sockets..."okaaaaay". MAde various things when i was on today, i noticed i made aduster someone which came out with 2 sockets too, wasn't really paying attention to whatother socketsI got.

But this isn't experimentation, surely this is assembly?

I just came to post about this, and find out Something Happened.

I am a Master Tailor, Master Artisan. I was wearing a tailor apron when crafting, using a +15 tool and a 44.5 private station. I made 10 BE Shirts (Formfitting Undershirts, specifically.) The results of my 10 attempts in terms of number of sockets were as follows: 1,2,1,3,4,2,2,1,2,4. I don't mind the idea of experimentation going in for tailors, but for the love of God, if they are implementing it, please let us at least experiment, and freakin' TELL us about it!

So far resource quality doesn't seem to make any difference at all. For cheap items this is not going to be a problem since if they really insist on 4 sockets I will be able to make them eventually. I am afraid to make weaponsmith toolkits and crafters aprons right now, though! People really want as many sockets as possible on these and I am getting *0* sometimes now! Please ask what is going on here N'Jessi! I would really like to know if I should hold off on making some of the high priced items because sockets are broken or if this is another one of those, "They changed it. Its not changing back. Deal with it." kind of things.

Hmmm... the thing is that - is this actually happening, or are we noticing it because we're paying attention? Unfortunately we have no "before and after" shots...

I'd like to get a little more data (anecdotes and whatnot) before I start crying foul.

ok ... made about 50 clothes today. About *four* had 4 sockets. And I really payed attention to sockets this week as a few costumers insisted on 4 sockets. Either I got really unlucky today or somthing has definitely changed.

Yup, something definitely happened. A crafted a bunch of stuff tonight and the marked lack of many 4 socketed items was immeadiately noticable. I was getting many 1 and even no socketed items. We have been officially borked. :/

NJ62, (and everyone else)

This is not normal. I am on Sunrunner, Master Tailor and Artisan. I usually get 4 sockets on all the clothes I make. Suddenly I'm getting about a 10% rate to get 4 sockets on one item. Someone screwed up somewhere. A Master should have a much better chance at getting 4 sockets AND sockets shouldn't be something that is limited, the tapes already are.

Yeah they screwed up something in the patch. almost everything I usually get 4 sockets on is now down to 2 or 3 sockets and it is pissing me off. If they change something they need to tell us so we know how to get our 4 sockets back.

Uhhh - you'd have to be able to experiment FIRST. and NO - not no but HELL NO - I surely for one do NOT want to see experimentation back in clothing.

Oh I totally agree with you. I don't want experimentation either. The mass quanitity of clothing we make would bring us to a screeching crawl.

I am just saying that maybe they are getting us ready to 'WANT' to experiment.

I have excellent tools - resources haven't mattered in forever - and far as I know - never did for sockets.

My artisan exp sucks - I don't expect to get socketed items in that anymore - but tailoring, my stuff nearly always pops with 4.

something changed.

As I said, I wonder if they have changed it so that we are using artisan experimentation now instead of tailor experimenation. I didn't have any trouble at all getting 4 sockets, but I'm a master artisan.

I can also vouch for what everyone else has been saying. Using a 41.9 crafting station and a 15.0 crafting tool, I was having a very rough time coming up with any 4 socket items.

Of the 100 or so items I made for my vendor today, I'd say around 10 of them came out with 4 sockets. The resthad anywhere between 1-3 sockets with the exception of a doctor's dress and a sunguard that actually came out with 0 sockets! In the eight months or so that I've been a master tailor, I've only had three or four socketable items come out with 0 sockets. Something's changed.
