Thread: Other professions submitting top 10 questions to devs are we?
Here you go:
1.Can we please get a schematic for the newbie scout vest (the one male scouts start with) and Leia’s slave skirt? Both items are in game already so no new art is required.
2.The cargo pockets that tailors craft are not useable as containers, though the ones that appear as loot are. Can ours be made so that they are useable as containers? Also can we get a schematic for satchels (another loot item that we cannot make)
3.Several items of clothing have White as the only choice on either color palette One or Two. Can we get this fixed? This Includes:
- Fighter Flight Suit
- Heavy Flight Suit
- Trader Flight Suit
- Transport Flight Suit
- Luxurious Gown
- Pleated Dress
- Light Bustier
- Ammo Bandolier
- Mercenary Bandolier
- Multipocket Bandolier
4.The two-strap bandolier has a really strange color palette (shades of terra cotta and peach?) Can this be changed to the leather color palette that the other bandoliers have?
5.On our top five list was a question about expanded color palettes for shoes, boots, and wookiee clothes. We were given a “super secret really cool stuff to come” answer and I would like to know how far away that “super secret really cool stuff” is? And can we have more information now?
6.There are many requests for more clothing using Reinforced Fiberplast Panels, especially shirts that require separate RFPs instead of stacks of factory made ones.
7.Can we please have a cloak with the hood up? I’m told one exists in game so no new art resources would be required.
8.Can we get a bug fix for the items are still equipable at 0/0 condition bug? And any chance we’ll be seeing use-based decay for clothing ever?
9.We would really like to be able to link together items for sale as a set (outfit) on vendors. Also we would like to be able to place custom orders for sale on our vendors.
10. We would like to see improved labeling on clothing restrictions (gender, species, etc) Many items are unclear about whether male characters can equip them or not. Can we get this changed?

Comments on the top 10 list. That list looks pretty reasonable to me. Asking for clothing items that are already in-game is probably a smart move.
About satchels and cargo pockets: I've had both (I think I got them from Jabbas as I recall),but they didn't seem to be at all useful to me. I'm pretty sure that you need to equip the satchel in place of the backpack, otherwise it doesn't "give you" any more storage (and it only stores 3 I think), can anyone confirm that? Also, although the cargo pocket can be used to store things, again, it doesn't give you any more storage (things you put in it still count against your inventory). So I'm not sure either is really useful.
If it were me, I'd probably not put a bandolier style issue on the top 10 list. I think the bigger, more important issue with bandoliers is simply the fact that you can't equip them along with a backpack. Until that is fixed (changed?) we'll probably continue to not sell many no matter what the styles/colors.
Cargo pockets with storage would be really good for special orders. They don't take nearly as much material as backpacks.
I use satchels and cargo pockets for storage in my house. I hate that floating backpack effect. Maybe it's just me, but it was asked about alot in beta and it turns up on the forums regularly (especially the craftable cargo pocket vs looted cargo pocket thing)
Bandoliers (and belts)not fitting was included in the last Top Five and I wastold that those issues got passed along to "the right people" in order for them to get fixed. (art team? QA? not really sure...) The weird color palette is definately not a huge issue... but then alot of the broken things in tailoring aren't huge issues, which I guessis why we don't get alot of development time. You're right about the bandolier/back pack issue, i'd forgotten about that.
Yeah, cargo pockets would be good for custom orders but, as the list includes, there is no way to tell what's in them or for the customer to see the outfit before buying the cargo pocket. On the other hand, if it's a custom order, you don't want people to see what is inside, lest they buy someone else's special order.
My pet peeves -
- necklaces
- hula hoop belts

Yea, thats actually the reason why I like to put custom orders in packs. I sometimes give pretty good discounts for large orders or frequent customers and I don't want other people coming along and taking advantage of it. I think most of my customers know that if they don't like what is in the pack, or if it is missing something that they can tell me and I will fix it.
- There is nothing special in the special order backpacks that isn't already on the normal vendor. The contents of the backpack are probably not what you want.
- The items in the backpack are never at a discount.
- If you buy a special order that does not belong to you, without exception you will be permanently banned from my shop, and possibly banned from the city.
I don't discount the items. I can always tip back some money later, but I'm not giving any advantage to thieves.
I don't really understand it, but I've seen it.... (Maybe some people who don't know how to get their inventory sorted?)
I have 2 vendors, one who sells clothing, the other "non-clothing" (basically crates, packs, and odds and ends.) When I put a custom order in a pack, it goes on the "clothing" vendor, where people just looking for packs hopefully won't be.
Though in a couple months when the devs are busy destroying our profession with the vendor nerf, this'll probably be moot....
Oh yeah, my special orders go on the "vehicles and repair tools" vendor. I'm still cautious. I can and will ban people from my shop although I've already had to ban a harasser (he's citybanned and I decided to get in on the action) and his 2 friends, and 2 leetfreaks who killed an overt in our town cantina while he was afk. My ban list is going to be awful full, please tell me its capacity is more than 20.

Oh yeah, on the "selling custom orders in packs" thing, I always figure that, at least for *our* profession, we don't need to worry too much, since people's tastes are likely to vary so much. Some random clothing order might be completely inappropriate for the random buyer. But one thing I do just in case:

Some people actually like carrying satchels and (lootable) cargo pockets around, even though they're actually a net negative for carrying *capacity*. They just like the "organization" of it.

I do it on my combat medic toon. Sure, it costs me an inventory slot to do it, but when I need to reload a poison, disease, or stim in mid-combat, being able to find the right type quickly is worth those couple of slots.
