Thread: Other professions submitting top 10 questions to devs are we?
#1) Will experimentation be back? Can tailors have some individuality between one Master's work and the other?
#2) Some clothing is still buggy (Male twi'lek hats, some races unable to wear certain robes, hoola hoop belts, rebel backpacks, necklaces)
Ours is already in. I went through and picked out things that come up in the forum repeatedly, some big major issues (like decay) and some smaller issues (like broken/weird color palettes). I tried to pick questions that I thought we'd get an actual answer to, and things that might get fixed/changed quickly.
Here's a quick rundown of what was on the list:
Schematics for the scout vest, leia's skirt, and the cloak with the hood up. Craftable cargo pockets being useable as containers and schematics for satchels. Broken color palettes (white as the only option) and the weird color palette for the two-strap bandolier. A time table/more information on the "super secret really cool stuff for wookiees/leather colors. Schematics using RFPs in multiple slots. Timetable on the 0/0 equipable bug. Any chance for use based decay for clothing? Linking items on vendors to sell complete outfits. Custom vendor sales. And better labeling of gender/race restrictions.
I would have honestly preferredto havean opportunity for the communityto formulate questions for the devs, but I understand that a feedback thread may not have been feasible given the timeframe.
Can you post the wording of thespecific questions that were submitted?
I'm pretty sure that Top 5 is just a carryover from what Vandessa had put together (part of a consolidation of stickies, I believe). It wasn't anything new we came up with in December.
And, Arthur you make a good point.. we can have top 5's, 10'sor 100's and it won't much matter. There are a bunch of changes going in for other professions (most of which need them desparately) and I think tailors are pretty far down on the list. We have to be satisfied withsmall additionslike chef hats and aprons.
I know tailors aren't as broke as the other professions - but it doesn't mean that we aren't frustrated by bugs that have been around forever (necklaces since what? day one?) or by the stagnation in our profession. And on top of that we get smacked around by the vendor item cap and bazaar price limit increase.
Oh well..

PS - Shouldn't the broken color palette's be on our top five? I'd love to have the white/white items fixed.
I emailed it, but I'll see if I have a saved copy ofmy final draft and I'll post it tonight when I get home.
Orginally Thunderheart requested 10 questions from several correspondents (3 or so) and a couple of us chimed in and asked if we could send in ours also. A few days later he asked for ones from the rest of the correspondents and many of them decided to poll their communites. I'd alread sent my questions in by that point.
I thought speed would a be a good thing, considering how long it takes for us to get feedback.

To clarify - our Top 5 was very old and compiled by Vandessa way back when. So old that many of us didn't recall ever having any input on a Top 5list at all. When I saw other professions getting asked for "Top 10 Questions" I thought we'd get a chance (as a community) to havemore current input on the state of our profession. I am disappointed that we did not get that chance, although I understand how it went down.
Maybe next time.

In hindsight I should have asked for your input. When TH asked it didn't seem like hewanted a new "Top 5" kind of list.
Hmm, I was able to find this thread from last month:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=tailor&message.id=21565&page=1
Strange that I wasn't able to find any of those old "official" threads from way back when, where we'd actually combine an "official" top 5 or 10 or 20 or whatever and get a response back from the developer on each item.
Of course the synic inside me says that the whole process is kind of meaningless anyway unless there is actually some developer resources assigned to tackle these issues rather than just shuffling paperwork.

I'm not sure of how they choose the order that they work on the professions, but tailor takes a lot of effort from the art department, so I am guessing it will take awhile for us. My guess is that they are going to add little bits of clothing as they go through the professions and as Vandessa pointed out, it looks like they are starting to add quest schematics. They can see what new clothing we really want has not been added already when they get to us. I also expect a few nerfs on the way, like the vendor nerf. The idea seems to be that we need to look at how the game will be once everything is fixed, not how it is now. So when they fix one profession, they might hurt us, and then it will be balanced out when they get around to fixing us. Unfortunately, at the rate they are going, it will probably mean 6 months to a year of pain.
This is assuming that they don't pull everyone off the revamps and put them to work on the space expansion half way through.
