Thread: Are you a tailor for the love of the prof or as a business...
When my boyfiend said there was a tailor profession in this new game he was starting to play my eyes lit up
I love, love, love Clothing, shoes and purses!!! I've been a Master Tailor since July 2003 and have never thought of doing anything else, I love the ability to experiment with color and coordinating clothing...I will admit I'm aserious crafter, my vendors are always well stocked, my buds in the game think I have no life lol but I love crafting fashions...It's been a dream of mine to become a fashion designer
This is my first experience playing a online game and I must say it's been a wonderful experience and looking forward to more great experiences in this game ![]()
Icho-12 pt Master Tailor

I am definitely in it for the love of the profession, but it has made some good money too! I have enough to keep maintenence paid pretty much forever so it is pure enjoyment now.
When BE clothes worked, I made them in great quantities and made most of my income from them. That made it easier to basically give away non-BE clothes to friends, noobs and anyone else who had an interesting order.
All credits are a means to an end, and in the last two years I've made a healthy sum tailoring. However, the guild I run is full of ex high end crafters and loot junkies and my credits pale in comparison. Given the fact that clothing (like dancer and ID) does not play an essiential role in combat economics, I couldn't imagine anyone sticking with it just for the money.
I do love tailor and clothes. To me, the best part is sharing the excitement of new fashions and designs with people and having them get excited with you and share your passion for the profession. I love it when old customers become tailors themselves and you get to talk shop about clothes and pallates.
tailor pwns.
I am one who gets a kick out of seeing people in my clothes, helping someone *design* that perfect outfit and generally making people smile.
Sorry to hear you would leave any profession JJ, and it always hurt when a productive crafter leaves a profession.
I am one of those Jedi wearing your clothes LOL, and nice ones too.
I respec'd the toon named Xena from a Master Musician / Master Dancer to Master Doc / Master Tailor, only to get the double nerf whammy.
I will also re-iterate that at Fan Fest, the devs indicated how difficult the "clothing" code is, and that they would never consider going back to make pre-cu clothes convert to post-cu functional, for that reason.
I hope they fix the BE clothes soon, as I do want to make them.
Currently, I have been able to make a few creds by having a vendor that sells only items with 3 or 4 sockets. I figure all that is good for crafting suits, and jedi are always buying the gloves, boots and belts, as do other combatants.
Personally I think tailors should all have a vendor that sells only 3 or 4 socket boots, belts and gloves.
Why, cause sheild gens, to the best of my knowledge dont work, armorsmith boots / gloves / belts have no sockets. Also, with the decay rate as high as it is, AAs are not as good an investment compared with CAs.
JJ, if you really go, I'll be happy to take as many of your old customers as I can handle.

3 or 4? How about just 4? lol. Seriously, if you're going to go to the trouble of setting that up, may as well do it right, no?
Actually though, this really is no longer practical to do anyways, what with the factory bug and all. It used to be that you could burn 10 items to make 1 schematic, with the knowledge that you'd crank out 100 or more of them with 4 sockets. But c'mon, nobody is crazy enough to fill a vendor with 4-socket hand crafted items... are they?

Having spent a merry time yesterday trying to fill an order for 4 black 4 socket sunguards my answer would be a resounding no. The order also included 4 x 4 socket Leather Gloves ... got all 4 in 7 attempts. But the sunguards took 32 attempts to get 4 x 4 socket items.
Of course today I couldn't move for 4 socket garments .... 12 on the trot then a couple of 3s then more 4s .... out of about 60 replacements 40 had 4 sockets (includingsome borked Desert Crawlers).
Sockets ... just gotta love 'em.
