Thread: My new proposed business model...
when i did packs I always threw the versions up on wall with a labled sign saying what it is,
i am kind of partial to my gals dressing the same so the outfits would never go on them.
and there was about a month when I took down the displays, the packs still sold out, sight unseen, to players who were not regulars and knew what to exspect.
I've had a "Costumes" vendor for a while now. Due to the factory bug, I have to make approximately half of the clothing myself... it takes a LOTof time, so I'd tend to agree with Ani on that issue.
Love the outfit choice too!

I find it extraordinary that people will buy a pack without any idea what's in it.
people will by anything with special lables, I'll tell you what...
folks will walk into a shop, prod a vendor, see a bag that says 'some cool stuff', check and see like 10 items in it, say "20k not bad" and snatch it up
the fun begins whenthey open it to find10 chance cubes in there all labled 'ice cube'
I am not sure if it is stupidity greed curiousity or a combo of the three
but sure enough if there is stuff in a container and it can be purchashed..it will be bought ![]()

They sure are dumb. I always keep "decoy packs" on my special order vendor so that people don't buy special orders that don't belong to them. I had one guy buy two decoy packs... I don't really know the logic behind it. Maybe he said to himself after buying the first one "the next one's gotta have good stuff." I banned him from my shop. At the time he bought the two packs, only decoy packs were left on the vendor, because the legitimate customers had already picked up their orders.
I wasn't about to give that jerk his money back. I had signs everywhere not to buy packs that don't belong to you.

This is a really great idea. All this time it all sold seperate but in a pack it is so much easier to manage on a vendor. Thanks for sharing!
I can't really take credit. I know a lot of people who offer sw-themed prefabricated outfits. The only difference is that I plan to do *only* those items (except by special order) because I figure specializing cuts down my workload.
The important part (I think) is to have model outfits on display so people know what they're getting. It may take a while to create trust, but it can work out very well.
I've been messing around with a similar idea regarding outfits in packs. However, my vendor is in a mall, and there's not enough space for me to have mannequin vendors. I thought about stocking singles of the pieces I plan to sell, pricing them at the 1111111 credits so they're not purchased. For example, I would have singles on the vendor called: SAMPLE - Revealing Top, SAMPLE - Fashionably Pleated Skirt, etc.
With each individual piece starting with the word sample, they'll be loaded at the top of the list. Then I will load in coordinated outfits into packs labeled VENDOR PACK - Sapphire Blue. In the description, I'd list the items in the pack: a top, skirt or pants, gloves, etc. I might also label packs for certain species so I can include lekku wraps, Ithorian and Wookiee gear. Seems to me the initial setup would be a pain, but the follow up stocking would be less time consuming. Any thoughts about this setup? Am I being practical or absolutely daffy?
my thing , it does not hurt to try
it is a game, have fun, try it out, ecperiment, just do it lol

The only comment I have which would cause a major snag is that people aren't very good at turning the page, following instructions, or navigating samples. I used to put a "read this first" in every vendor category (with useful info like "boots do not come in red" or "these gloves don't work with mon-cals"). Nobody read them.
I have toyed with the idea of costumes as well, but like NJessi have been leary to do so without display models. I suppose you could notepad a little note to add to the description with what is in the bag, that would probably work too. That is how I keep all my "please reads" updated.. people don't realize when you relist that disappears.. heh
I may have to give this a shot, but would rather wait till factories are fixed. I've got enough to make as it is hehe
