Thread: Poll II: Recolorization by Tailors only
1. I would not support any form ofclothing recolorization.
2. I would support recolorization of clothing by Tailors if:
- Thechange was permanent.
- Only Expert/Master Tailors would be able to do it.
- It could only be done once or a few times per item of clothing.
- It could only be done by the creator of the item.
- If only the creator can do it, the item name be alterable.

That makes no sense...colorization only if its by the original tailor, and tied to skill? You actually think it will be easier to have orders of 'can u recolor my duster' than just selling them a new one?
I wish we would concentrate on practical things, like bugs and missing schematics/colors.
I am against any of this fading/recoloring nonsense....people had a tizzy when we put in decay. Fading won't be very popular anyway. I personally would rather just stock and make clothing instead of chasing people down to 'fix' the color on an item I made them a month ago.
You guys are making this profession far more complicated and far less fun with these kinds of suggestions. /shrug
My thought's as well.

Actually, I've seen multiple tailor posts since release asking for dye kits or recoloring ability (though they were rarely made by tailor form "regulars"), it's just never gotten this much attention. I think the reason the idea is getting attention has to do with the armor implementation, but it's hardly an idea no tailors ever ever have asked for.

- Any Tailor would be able to do it, and it would be tied to their skill level.
- If any Tailor can do it, the item name get'dyed by ...' tacked onto the end.
- If it could only be done on clothing that is in perfect (1000/1000) condition, and therewould bea small chance of having the dye itself damage the clothing.
God gods, I get enough stupid tells saying things like 'can u make me cargo pnts'? I don't need anymore from people who suddenly find that they don't like red and want blue, or that blue isn't just right, or 'I want it to perfectly match my pink armor'.
No, no, no and NO. Absolutely not, under no conditions whatsoever. Kill this thought with, as another poster put it, 'extreme prejudice'!!!

Yup...I prefer the onus to be on the customer to decide what he/she wants at the point of order or purchase from vendor, rather than buy things on a whim then penalise the tailor by subjecting them to recolourisation sessions.
I enjoy helping polite and appreciative customers refine their selections (even if it means making samples which they finally do not want), but I'm pessimistic about the amount of Happy this change will bring to the profession and its workings.

I'm sorry, it's just a bad idea. Far more trouble than it's worth. I don't want people buying things off my vendor then turning around asking for a dye job.
2. I would support recolorization of clothing by Tailors if:
- Any Tailor would be able to do it, and it would be tied to their skill level.
- It could only be done once or a few times per item of clothing.
- It could only be done by the creator of the item (or by a Dye Pack crafted by the same Tailor).
- (new) Dye Packs are introduced. Dye Packs, with limited charges, could be used by customers on items following theguidelines above:useable only on items made by the same Tailor that crafted the dye pack, clothing has a limited amount of times it can be dyed (fix decay, and reduce max condition with each dyeing), with a dye-selection based on the Tailor's skill level.
A dye pack would prevent dyeing of clothing from getting out of hand by customers because: Tailors will control if their customers can redye clothing or not, by offering a custom-dye service or selling dye packs, or not doing so. Customers won't be able to purchase clothes from one tailor and purchase dye packs from another. It'd still be cheaper for a customer to purchase items in colors they like straight from the tailor or vendor. The dye packs would most likely be priced in-line with a tailor's most expensive item, to cover the loss of a new sale. The dye packs would most likely be purchased by customers that are impatient, have too much money, live on a different planet, are too busy, and overall for convenience purposes.
