I agree! I have my own set of pantone chips sitting at the computer for reference and a pantone Spyder to keep my monitor calibrated!

I still say63 colors would be plenty for us
Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple Brown
then three shades to light hue {pastel} and three shades to dark hue {rich}of them
white to black in 7 squares
7 blocks of neon
BUT then give us texture, a drop down to choose
Lycra, Mylar, Cotton, Wool, Silk, Leather/Suede, Latex/Rubber
I like that idea, we do have plenty of colors.. just too many bad ones really, not enough good ones. And most are just different shades of the same. How many people really make 1 item in all 255 colors?
As for the textures, I like that..would add to our creativity, but isn't mylar like that thin plastic silver baloons are made of?
And latex.. lol I can see it now.. 100's of orders for latex hotpawnts or bodysuits....
Think of mylar as the shiny material texturethat Ithorian clothing was first introduced with.
and we get orders asking for latex already so would be nothing new if we could actually make it ![]()
I actually have a copy of the old, nicely laid out chart in a notebook numbered from 1-255. Went through and typed up a list with names for all the colors. I like some of the names suggested here better than some of mine, but I've been using this for almost a year so it's a bit late to change names now!
If you'd like a copy of my list, I have it in a .doc format I can e-mail. Just send me a PM if you want it with an address to send it to. ![]()

(lol my black is #7 as well :robotsurprised
I also called 91 Black
149 is listed as Cinnamon?! Isthis a typo?
221 is not the same as 255 and 255 matches the reward pilot jumpsuit
My names (never really bothered naming most of the Artisan colors):
- 92 - Khaki
- 140 - Brown
- 161 - Blue
- 168 - Dusk Purple
- 175 - Wine
- 182 - Sienna
- 189 - Umber
- 196- Forest Green
- 200 - Denim
- 203 - Navy Blue
- 210 - Violet
- 217 - Red
- 220 - Peach
- 238 - Kelly Green
- 253 - Fuschia
- 254 - Cherry Red
- 255 - Rebel Orange
Mostly I picked either the first or last one named it and then it was (light, medium-light, medium, medium-dark, dark)
::grumble:: double post
