I would suggest #91 as the "blackest grey", closest to black we got.
7 still looks darker to me and closer to black than 91, as 91 just looks like a dark shade of grey.
Still i'll investigate further

On my screen 7 is black no matter how closely I look, and I've not had any complaints from customers yet
But anyways, page bookmarked for future referance
definately with Cass there on 7 being green tint
after making so many outfits 'called' black and then making them 'my version' of black, I have not had but one who wants #7 as black afterwords.
you can really see the difference if you make 'cotton' texture shirt in one and pants in other.
#7 or #91, i posted this chart as i thought it might help people who like a handy reference.
#7 looks black on my screen and #91 looks a dark, but noticeable grey.
I've never had anyone complain and say its not black, perhaps i'll grab a few of my customers for an opinion, you never know.
I welcome all comments about colours and colour names, the more colour names i can get on that chart the better really.
I suck at coming up with names, and having played for a long time on chimaera and infinity i asked Kel if i could use her colour names, and all was well. Zendra then stuck up some outfit ideas again with colour names and she let us use those, and all was well.
I can't be doing with arguing and i can see this black/black debate getting sticky, so lets knock it on the head eh?
Any other comments on the chart? Handy guide? Useful?
Feel free to post more suggestions for colour names, simple or exotic its all good
Phen think your taking the comments a tad too serious there
absolutely nothing wrong with your charts, we are just adding our input to it as that is why you posted here right? ![]()
Besides all feedback is good feedback
Personally...I call therow of master red "Fire Engine Red", The middle of that row "Coral Pink", the red that used to be directly aboveF.E. Red"Berry Red", and the middle of that one "Berry Pink". I also use "olive" for the 2nd row of greens up from the bottom. (sorry, closed the window and don't feel like figuring out how to get it back when i'm supposed to be working, so nonumbers.
)
I find the more descriptive the color is, the more people like it. And if they ask me for "sand" colored clothes, I name it that, and they think the color is PERFECT. ![]()

NiceBUt #7 is NOT black! its some stupid green black, you know what i mean if you look closely at clothes with that color.

It really depends on how your monitor is set. #7 is darker, but it *is* more green than #91, which is lighter. For people who have their monitors set fairly dark (or even properly like mine), #7 looks more like "black", but for those people who set their gamma high so that they can see everything on the screen easily it turns into a puke green and #91 is better. Usually I make #7 if people ask for black and if they complain it is green I just put it on my vendor and make them the same thing with #91.
Just for extra information, #7 has RGB values of (58,61,50), which makes it a bit on the reddish green side. #91 has RGB values of (72,72,72) which is neutral (gray), but is quite a bit lighter than #7.

Thanks NJ, i'll be doing my best to keep the chart fresh with new colour descriptions and such like
Great chart, thanks.
I call 156 "Ice Blue" 'cos it has a glacial feel to it and 137 "Coffee".
Cheers,
