Thread: New skill suggestion: ability to remove skill attachments/armor attachments
They could take it one step further and make it so only a piece of clothing you've worn for a certain period of time can be rerolled, and that piece of cloth contains your biological info and can only be worn by the person it belongs to.
Of course, I'd still settle for a universal palette so I could actually match something to my dress robe.
I wasnt confusing the fact that aprons have ingrown stats. There simply is no way to distinguish those stats from any other stats on clothing that are there by virtue of skilltapes. Not all clothing has 4 sockets so counting sockets really wouldn't be a good way to determine what could have tapes removed or not.
maybe there would be a way to 'tag' the special items such as crafter aprons and toolkits to prevent them from having the built in stats removed. I'm not a programmer so I don't know how hard or easy this would be.
Again I love the idea . . .but I just would want it to apply ONLY to tapes that are placed on items and not stuff that is there from the creation.
As a side note . . .what would be the going rate for this service?

You have this backwards. Since skill tapes are rare drops and only useable once, they demand super-high prices. If SEAs were removeable/reuseable the market would adjust to having more available, which would lower the prices.
They are not rare drops by any means.
tons of people destroy tapes by the handful if they do not have mods above +5
and since they are pure loot in no way do they demand super high prices, that is just our greed there..not demand.
when one collects lots of SEAs, and finds newer/better stuff, it re-enters the economy or is destroyed. All this would do is increase the number of SEAs on the market because they'd never be lost. consider this: I have a +10 general melee speed. I purchase a pre-nerf mabari belt to hold it. Well if I find another one, I'll just take it out and pop a new one in. That's one less mabari belt I'll have to buy, and one more SEA on the market. belt sales drop, since you don't have to re-sell them, SEA prices drop.
Consider it from a clothing perspective. Unless you have it so that removing attachments means destroying the item, you'll have people who just slap an adk on an undershirt and swap SEAs, rather than buying more clothes. Same thing goes for any clothing item. and if you do destroy the item, you'll have a problem with people feeling like they're being forced to destroy items. I mean if I have a shirt in perfect condition that cost me 50k, and I soon find a better attachment, why should I lose the original item, just to please another profession. By the way, I'm just trying to play devil's advocate here.
In the end, I think this would hurt the economy, and wouldn't really help tailors in the long run.
