Thread: Message from Alichai!
I can completely see why Alichai decided to hit the cancel button. I'm sure it's frustrating to work hard, gathering information and reporting it to the devs, not just to be ignored but to be lied to. If it happened to me I would seriously consider doing the same thing.
Alichai, if you're still reading the forums, thanks for your help!

I side with our hardworking ex-correspondant. Our value other than asthetic is a joke. Decay is needed more than any other fix.
I don't get it....Clothing decay didn't work anyway so making it not work is a big deal since it didn't work anyway? I like the colors, about time....I can't experiment anymore on clothing items....Like I ever needed to use it anyway, worthless, just takes a step out. Maybe it was a typo and they added decay in? Who knows.
I seem to remember something about the correspondants being asked to submit information about important issues. Which they did, with no response. They did it again the next week, with no response. I honestly don't remember if this went on two or three or four weeks before the SOE people said something along the lines of "give us time to fix what you've already given us". So as I understand it, the correspondants were cooling their heels waiting for a fix. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting, while the devs were too busy "fixing" the problems they selected as important.
If Alichai stopped posting for eight days because there was either nothing to say (or out of sheer despair at the broken down communications), I wouldn't blame him/her a bit.
Whenpeople becomedepressed, they often withdraw fromthe situation that caused the depression. Maybe it's not professional, but it sure is within the bounds of normal human behavior.
Alichai, if youever readthis... thank you for the time and effort and heartyou put into this while you were with us. Please don't doubt your decision; This was the last straw for a lot of people.
this is horrible ![]()
I was wonder why Alichai hasn't posted...this... GAH!
you mean they're taking out clothing decay, becausethe average person doesn't want to spend 2 mission's worth of credits to get a set of new clothing every 2 weeks or a month or so? but the same people are willing to pay 10-50 times that amount for a gun, that DOES decay.
this is just plain sad. i'm not sure what to do, maybe i'll go join the strike ![]()
if anyone sees Alichai, tell her we miss her, and she was doing a great job![]()
Alichai went above and beyond. She had more lists of concerns (in order of importance) than the devs would accept. Everyone in the tailoring community knew where those issues stood (with tailors) and patiently waited to hear from a DEV, not the tailor correspondant (who had done her job).
There simply was nothing new to do.
the big deal is that on at least one occasion, a dev wandered in here (probably by accident) and stated that decay WILL be implemented and working correctly. it was one of the 5 tailor issues they addressed in the "dev responses" thread, and in it, they said clothing will decay.
then there was the quote that is floating around where holo i believe stated that EVERYTHING will decay - oops... there goes that whole telling the truth thing
Probably not going to be the most popular thing to say, but..
While it's always a shame when someone is placed into a position where they feel like they need to remove themselves from a game, Alichai hadn't logged into these forums in at least 8 days (am I incorrect here?). As someone who has to depended on correspondents to relay their profession's issues to the developers, it can be frustrating when that someone is absent for so long. To be honest, I was kind of hoping for a correspondent change anyway because of this. It seemed to me like the current one wasn't making themselves available enough to fulfill the role lately, however maybe my perception of the situation was wrong.
Anyway, just my two cents.
HI everyone =D
Okay, Myslef and TripleDES got our wires crossed a little bit. (I meant for him to post that on a private board that I was having trouble posting to)I have NOT ended my subscription yet, though I plan to. I would not Dump out on you guys wihtout first letting you all know and making sure the devs were picking a replacement!!! ^_^
To those of you who noticed my 8 day period of inactivity.. I was still reading the forums.. I just didnt log in. I dont usually log in until I want to post something. And I didnt want to be depressing to people still having fun. I was also still playing, and I post other places with SWG players so I was still in-touch. So nyah! =D
Believe me, this was a really hard decision. But frankly, the game is just not fun for me anymore. And there was NOBody who wanted the game to be fun and worked harder at trying to make it fun for everyone than I have. I mean, by trying to have a great attitude, and helping people out and being a very active member in the beta testing.
I was amazed and literally I almost cried when I read the responses on this thread. I couldnt have picked a profession filled with more nice, patient people. Can you imagine if this had been posted in the Bounty Hunter profession board, what kind of responses it would have gotten?? Heheheh
I am quitting because I do not think the developers have a coherent vision of how this game should work. I think they have made some particularly heinous decisions lately, that even if they're not so bad IN and of themselves, they show an overall lack of competence. I also understand that this is a HUGE game, but I feel like, even after all this time, they have never really hashed out a lot of details. The interdependencies of the systems do not make sense.. There is a basic lack of planning in so many places..
I am also sick of playing inventory hokey-pokey in my OWN house just to practice my one craft. *sigh* The problems with the database are beginning to overshadow all other aspects of the game.
I am dissapointed that they even mentioned that they would like to charge us for our vendors based on the overall selling price of the items thereon. I mean, this game was already like a second job for me. I would be at work thinking, omigosh did I remember to feed my factory or is it going to be poofed when I get home?
The vendor thing, and others just seem like the wrong way to go... Punishing the more casual or inefficent players overly much. I mean, is it a crime to be inefficient? Does being less than a german-efficiency-machine mean that the player has no business being an artisan? I dont think it should work like that.
Overall I am very very sad to leave after all the (probably waaaay too much) effort I have put into this game. I will miss my friends here and in-game and I will miss being correspondent and trying to makea difference. But as this last fiasco sadly proved, they werent listening to us anyways!
I will try to offer some recommendations with my email as to who should be correspondent next. I dont know if they will listen to me at all, but I can try. The correspondent position also now comes with a Free character on test-center who is able to use special XP terminals, so that the player can check up on new patches before they hit live. So more work, but more access.
Who wants the job?
Good Luck everyone! And if you are still having fun, I hope you can continue to for a very long time!! =D
