Apparently (s)he managed to track me down on a supersecret internet forum and PM'd me to post a message into this forum. Apparently (s)he lost the posting rights after cancelling.

Anyway, here's the message:

I have been following this game on the development boards for years. I was one of the first 100 people chosen for Beta 1. I was an active participant throughout all of beta and I have been playing the game since day 1. I am also the tailor correspondent.

But I quit today. This last thing... removing decay resist stats from Clothing.. its just the last straw. When the developers ask for a community representative to send in 5 issues with each profession.. When I take the time to do THEIR job by doing what they asked... And they blatantly disregard our #1 issue, and do the EXACT OPPOSITE..

For chrissakes..? Is that supposed to give me hope that things will be Fixed in the future?? When they can't follow a simple list of 5 things? When they decide that the desires of a few non-tailors are more important than the needs of the entire profession?

This change is just dissastrous for us.. not because it changes the status-quo, but because it says clearly that they DO NOT CARE about making tailoring more fun. So not only will every dancer have her 10 fleshwraps all in different colors forever.. We now have LESS chance of ever seeing a single reason to "experiment"... the bread and butter of the entire crafting system.

Someone really dropped the ball here.. ANd that is why I pressed the cancel button today. I will be posting over on the SWG boards that I quit as correspondent as soon as I get up the courage. (those people can be ANIMALS! lol)

I guess it's legit, if not, (s)he'll pop up personally and complain anyway.

A person has to wonder what percentage of the correspondants have quit or at a minimum have turned hostile to SOE.

*sigh*

Course .... having a correspondant doesnt really seem to make any difference to the Devs since they just seem to ignore what they do and say

Well they did add 55 colors, they did fix the initial wookie color issue, they are aparently working on more schematics for us. Not everything was ignored...

Absolutely.. they have worked on,or at least mentioned considering, numerous other items brought up by our correspondant, which is another reason to suspect that this might simply have been a very poorly-worded note. I do hope that Alichai reconsiders for just a bit -- long enough, at least, to hear some word from the Devs on this; I'd hate to think of her quitting because of something that's more or less a typo.

Oh and they did add catagory sorting as well.

I imagine that the tailor/armorsmith bug is not something that is as easy to fix as it seams. Not only that but who knows how color asignments work on the back end. It could be a monsterous task to try and fix that.

Decay is, while a big issue, just one issue of many we had that they have done their best to help out with (along with trying to do things with 32 other professions) I don't see why it was something to quit over. Its not like it gated us... just kinda made us less engaging.

My main problem with today's change is that we were FLAT OUT LIED TO by Q-3PO about it then they had the gall to say that the "community" said they didn't want decay when it's our #1 issue!

NO respect for the Devs after this, colors and low level wookiee clothing isn't going to make up for this blatant disregard for ALL of us.

"The Community" is different than "The Tailor Community"

Course I have to disagree with the statement as well since well from what I saw on the boards there weren't protests in the streets about clothing decay either. Outside of our tailor forums it seemed like a non-issue. Meaning people didn't really care if clothes decayed or not.

The correspondant concept is a good idea that's dying for lack of follow-through. I think they're counting on this new Assistant Miracle Worker position to pick up the ball and run with it, but I think that's a little much to ask of anybody fresh off the turnip truck.

In the meantime, they'd damned well better clarify what's going on if they expect there to be any Tailors left in the near future.

TripleDES: Thanks for passing on the post, the sentament is shared across all the boards. It's to bad that SOE had to **edit** up what could have been a good thing. It's also to bad to see another gamer quit over some stupid patch.

I think its a little premature to quit until things get sorted out. Who knows, maybe it was a badly worded thing. What part of the community asked for no decay? I didn't see posts all over the general forums about this issue. I don't think it was on the radar of most players until today. Clothing needs to decay. I know the devs were looking at a system where if you got incapped all your items might take a decay hit, but that is still in development. Certainly be vocal and get the tailors out there getting some answers, but don't make some wildy emotional choice before you know the facts.

The note is true Alichai has left the building along with quite a few others.. some are sticking it out but not playing much but Alichai has definitly hit the old cancel button..

There is just so much lying to a person can take and Raph should really know that he can't mess with the player base like this..

I hope you don't mind a comment from a non-tailor...

I honestly do not know why the Dev's removed decay from clothing. I can't remember the decay rateever being an issue (at least I don't recall an outcry about it) with clothing buyers and having clothes fall apart over time does make sense. Just my two cents but it seems this will hit your bottom line pretty hard as many customers will be one time only.
