I would like to see some sort of sticky update about decay myself. All the little tweaks are great, but without decay for clothes we have no economy.

Also the idea of items getting damaged or lost after death/incapacitation will aid armorsmiths, and weaponsmiths far more than it helps us tailors. They get double decay and we get a partial decay that is worth a lot less.

Fix decay for clothing!

Also FIX THE CHEF ITEM STACKS! You broke em, fix em!

Clothing needs DECAY!! Everyone was going nuts about this a couple weeks ago and now it seems everyone has forogtten. If you want anything to be done about this you have to continue ranting! I know we have read the arguments over 100 times on why it needs decay so I will spare you with my views on that. I do, however, have an idea on how clothing decay could work that would be better than time based or combat based. The clothing could decay depending on how much the characters move around. Like for every 1000m you run your clothing could all lose 1 durability point or something along those lines. It would of course take a lot of testing to see what a fair number/distance would be, but that was just an example. Come on guys lets not let this issue slip away!

Agreed. It can be slow, it can take a long time for a piece of clothing to actually be destroyed, but without decay, our proffession is pretty much a joke.

We need some love, devs. Just because the rest of the players don't want to participate in the economy is no reason to hang us out to dry. How ridiculous is it that there is NO POINT to using materials of differing quality in clothing. Since there is nothing for us to experiment on, and there is no decay, the end quality of clothing is meaningless. Slapping any stupid resource into the schematic is all it takes to come up with some clothes.

Please address this, folks. It's *very* important.

I was going for Tailor myself until they stated that this would be the case. Couldn't make any money as a beginning Tailor either. Every one thought 600 for a piece of clothing was too much. They all thought I should just give it away, which I did many times to help get usage xps (and yes I was getting quite a few of them at one point). Once they said no more usage xps that was enough for me.

I switched to armorsmith. Makesmoney as a beginner novice in it. Stuff decaysso I get constant business, and some times I get lots of usage xps. Once I master armorsmith I'll come back to Tailor. I expect something will have been done by then or everyone else will have given it up.

Hint... If your into crafting for the money, be a weaponsmith. If your into it for the cool looks you can give people, stick with Tailor. I switched to at least break even on advancing myself in an elite artisan class. I would perfer to do that with Tailor, but don't see myself making money in it until master unless I spend all my time selling/marketing my clothes, which I am not willing to do.

If you plan on switching to armorsmith like me here is a hint:Keep Tailor and get Field Ware 2.

I'm not mad about it, just changed my character's focus for a while. Learn to adapt to the changing rules or drive yourself crazy complaining about it.

Actually, had a real nice discussion of this just last week. I don't think anyone's forgotten. Well, except the devs, maybe... but I figure if they're going to ignore us, we can ignore them right back!

Seems to me clothing decay has taken a step backwards since the devs removed experimentation. Not that experiments were doing any good anyway, but at least that was step 1 towards decay.

Decay andexperimentation go hand in hand, and we NEED experimentation. What makes any tailor better than another without experimentation?? NOTHING. All other professions can compete because of the quality of their product and we can't. Keep this post going so at least our correspondent will see that we still care.

very good point. you know, I think decay is more important then ever now, and here's why: with people forking out big bucks for stat-modified clothing, I think the outfit churn is going to slow for a lot of people. Someone who paid 20k for a +10 duster is going to think twice before trading it in on a cloak for fashion purposes. Decay is more important now then ever, I hope they hear us on this issue, I really do.
