I'm sure most of you have been though this already, so i need some advise on what to do. For those who have no idea what the hell I mean, let me explain.

I log on. I check my mail, like usual, and I have 2 complete sales of 200 credits each, and about 24 uncomplete sales. I look at my vendor and theres about 200+ items to restock. The hell with that. I decide to start grinding ( 30,000 exp left until casual 1, woohoo ) 5 minutes later Im out of fiberplast. Nobody online has any to spare so I check my harvestors. No power. No power in my inventory either. I decide to make some stuff without fiberplast ( not much ) Then I realize Im out of components. I go to my factory and it needs 12,000 to repair. I have somewhere around 2000. I go to the bazarr and none of my labeled items sold. (advertising is working for me..) Finnally giving up, I give my friends some lame excuse about how my computer isn't working well, and much to their complaint, I log.

I know it sounds like I'm being a whining brat, probobly because I am. I REALLY wanted to be a tailor just so I could be creative. I ask for advice a bunch, because I can't seem to get this stuff to click, and I'm getting get your name out, advertise, get to know your customers, be friendly, yadda yadda. But the thing is I just can't get this to work at all. Nobody comes to my shop no matter how much I advertise. 90% of the customers want something I cant make. And for the tiny % that actually DOES want something I make, whoopie 800 dollars, hope that keeps everything I own alive for however long until someone else comes.

This is probobly gonna get deleted before anyone sees it anyway, but if it stays, thanks for anyone that helps, because *I* have no idea what to do.

I financed most of my early tailor days by taking combat missions. in most cases you don't become self-sufficient until you have more skills

where is your shop on Ahazi? mind if I come take a look?

Or if you don't have any combat skills, try running artisian missions. Thats how I made extra cash in my early days. Survey missions are easily done. Find missions for like metal, then find a nice 70% or higher spot and just run back and forth. You can make some good quick cash doing those.

Just hang in there. It takes a while to get your tailoring business established.

I know what an unwanted childit can be. Luckily, when I first started my Tailor elsewhere, I was in a lot-exchange with someone on my server. He could use my lots to plant harvs, and in exchanged, I'd get one-third of the resources he made, so I had a constant supply. But ever since I deleted that character, I haven't touched crafting again due to the hassle involved.

All of the times I have created a tailor, I've made my money by selling cloaks, camos (yea yea, camos....) and backpacks on the bazaar. People always seem to want those.

When I started over on TC, I discovered that nobody wanted non-master goods. I ended up financing everything using survey missions. This is also a bad time for sales.

Recently I got a request for a custom order, a guildie. Although I didn't charge him for the clothes, he paid me 50k for travel. I've actually gotten a lot of requests for custom orders while sitting in the ID tent. Maybe you want to go out where the people are and see if anyone wants a custom order - they won't leave me alone, and my tag is NEVER UP!

Artisan survey missions work great for easy credits.

I wish you are on my server than I could help you .

I will confess, my tailor is my alt, so I had the capital to fund grindingto master, however, I may still be able to offer some advice for making credits.

Mine your own resources. Once you build up a nice supply, you never have to worry about running out again. I also mine my own radioactive. It's cheaper and then I always know I have some lying around. When I find a nice concentration, I throw down a few extra fusion generators and sell the excess for 2 cpu.

Resources are in high demand right now with all the shipwrights and JTL business. Fiberplast, steel, and iron are some of the biggest sellers. Find a nice concentration, mine a little bit, break them up in small chunks, and sell them on the bazaar for whatever grinding prices go for on your server or if you really want mark it up a little. I don't think a lot of people even care about the quality right now, because it's in such demand. Also check your trade forums for resources that people are looking to buy.

I haven't really broken into the bazaar market, but I'm sure other tailors on here can tell you what sells. From my personal experience on my vendorsof big sellers: hooded cloaks in black, white and brown; black uniform boots, and black leather gloves. If you do some factory runs of 4 socketed gloves, hats, and belts people will love you.

I'm not sure of how far into the tailor trees you are, but some of my biggest shop sellers are Star Wars sets in backpacks. The colors in the movies are pretty neutral, so I doubt you'd need master tailor to make them. Since they come in a set, you can raise the price a little and make some decent credits. I had to raise my prices a lot, because I was selling so many that I couldn't keep up. Set up displays in your shop that have the outfit's name on them. It makes your shop look nice, and people will love the idea of buying prepackaged sets.

I didn't really start selling anything from my shop until I had a huge inventory. After that word spread, and now I have a large customer base. I'd take thisopportunity to build yourself a large stock.

You might also want to readjust your prices. You don't have to charge so little just because you're not a master. I doubt many players will even notice a price difference from 200 credits to 500, 1k, or more.

Yup, that's how I still bring in some extra cash, plus it helps the advertisment factor a bit. Now that I'm master I send a quick thank you note to anyone that purchased something that is not a backpack (lol) but those things fly off the bazaars

ooh yeah... survey missions. I used those to fund my TC chars too, the Theed Survey Loop saves the day

back when I was leveling tailor, I mined my own resources. I was lucky enough to have an architect friend that made me harvs/houses/furniture when I gave him resources, so after a while I just needed money to maintain my harvs. I kept my harvs on the same planet, usually in the same area I live in.

one thing I did to increase sales (probably after mastering, but might work before) is to set up vendor at a larger "mall". otherwise black/white cloaks/duster/camos/etc are fairly popular too.

I used to have a shop in kaadara, and I made decent money... I'm also doing ok right now out in Mos Oasis, and black/white items sell well.

My shop is in Kaadara! It used to be a really booming little area with lots of people until the Imperial crackdown. Now no one wants go to there because you can't get out of the city without being scanned. A lot of the time I am being scanned inside of the starport as I am loading, which I thought was not supposed to happen.
