Thread: Shouldn't tailors be crafting Jedi Robes

Only FS crafters should be able to craft them.
Yes, I agree.

I was (and still am) very much in favor of tailors having some role in making the robes. While I agree we shouldn't be the only ones involved in their creation, sidestepping us is an insult.
It's ironic that Jedi are perfectly fine with paying hundreds of thousands of credits to newbies for force crystals that were looted from meatlumps and thugs, but are completely unwilling to work with tailors for the creation of a robe.

Nobody except jedi should deal with jedi anything.
But again, Jedi are fine with purchasing crystals and pearls from other people? This is an example of interdependence done poorly, and yet Jedi tolerate it. Heck, there isn't even an uproar to make crystals crafted/foraged. Interdependence done in a good way can benefit both parties.
Jedi exist in the same world with other players, so there's no reason that they shouldn't have to live in it too, even in some small way. If Jedi are to be as self-sufficient as you want them to be, then it would also seem reasonable to make the Jedi economy a sealed one. No credit or item transfers between them and other non-Jedi players. Also place them on a forced vow of poverty and limit them to thetens of thousands of credits so that they can pay for travel expenses.
That wouldn't be any fun, would it? But I imagine living on your own in a world with thousands of other people wouldn't be either. By and large, tailors aren't greedy. After all, tailors who originally took up the profession in order to become rich have quickly learned that the money lies in other professions. What you're left withare people who honestly love clothes and interaction. The community isn't asking to craft "uber" robes that we can dangle on a string in front of you and ask millions of credits for. Tailors would be overjoyed at robes wearableonly byJedi that could be crafted with some synthetic cloth and a few units of polymer and hide. They'd only warrant a few thousand credits as their sale price. The schematic might even be granted at some tailoring-relatedforce sensitivity line. You could even make them "tuned" by individual jedi afterwards.
Since launch, we've received three new pieces of art. Two chef hats andan apron. You might even argue that they were part of the Chef revamp and the fact that we got them was just a side effect. But more than anything, tailors just want to be given something.

Tailors, please read the post that is linkedto my signature and think about it.
It's not so much about robes but about what Jedi are lacking at the moment, still it does deal with the robes issue a little bit, so you might be interested.
Thanks!

I would say have Jedi make thier own robes, but must use panels made by tailors, and a fastener or two, and some trim, hehe....
I am personally tired of making components for people and would rather that the robes be handed out in the way that is planned than to have to make components for every jedi who wants a robe.
This is probably not a good time to talk about jedi stuff with me anyway. I am kind of annoyed at the jedi in the game. The prevailing attitude I have seen from most of the jedi that I have met is that because it is so hard to grind that jedi should be superior to other classes in every way as a reward for their hard work. Its fine that all that work should be rewarded (and *is* being rewarded with lots of new development time), but right now my reward for staying a tailor for all these many months and working really hard to try to be the best tailor I can (which is as much or more work than just grinding professions) is burnout and steadily declining sales with absolutely no indication that they are going to spend any time to improve things in the forseeable future.
