oops...

I have trouble maintaining enough items on my vendors.

someone came this evening after I spent all afternoon tailoring and bought I think 50 items.. I had 80 on her... lol.

geesh... however I like the buisness but I work like its a real job ...

I feel burned out...

My suggestion would be to reevaluate your pricing. It's simple supply and demand, raise your prices to the point where you are selling ata rate you are more comfortable with.

I know exactly how you feel....ever since vendors got patched, I've been swamped with work....I finally got around to crafting travel packs today, but now I'm out of components, and my factory is broken, so I can't restock my clothing vendor.

So yeah, raising prices (even if it's only temporary) is probably your best option if you're falling behind on restocking.

I had the same problem every moment I was like standing at my machine grinding away like mad, grinding orders, 10 people in my house. ThenI moved into the boonies on Naboo and told everyone I was taking time to decorate my house. Ahhh peace as the days go by though they are starting to come little by little which is welcome now that I can focus more on each customer. People used to think I was sorta quiet and withdrawn hehe - lol I was just insanely busy - now I just need something to spend my money on 8)

I also have this problem. I literally would spend 8 hours a day, unable to leave my shop because of the 20-50 emailed orders overnight, and the constant walk in customers. I havnt taken any custom orders for about 2 weeks now, just focusing on vendor stock. I am also forced to have a AFK message on stating my vendors are restocked Mondays and Fridays with the coordinates of my shop, just so I dont have to type the same thing over and over.

I am hoping when there are a bunch of tailors in game I can enjoy crafting again. Right now the demand is so great its more of a burden then actual fun. Add to that tailors asking for training and copying your prices so they can undercut you (happened to me 3 times now) and its getting mean as well as exausting.

My hope is to service a small list of folks who need custom clothes, and just stock vendors for everyone else.

I have people yell at me daily cause I cant drop everything and make them what they want. I typically tell them I feel like the only cashier at walmart on christmas eve, and they understand. I also keep a list of every tailor I have come across, and refer people to them if what they want isnt on my vendor.

Thats a good idea to re-stock the vendors twice a week. Though at times I could only find time to stock once a week. There are other things I would like to do in the game. I also think putting the AFK message up is a great idea. I did have another tailor in the FG line make items for me, and that helped alot, so I could stock the womens line.

I feel like just not even carrying women's clothes at all because it seems to be much harder to keep the women's items stocked. Before I became Master Tailor I did very well selling to men and wookies mostly.

I think I may raise my prices alot too. Should I warn players that my prices are going up?

I also have tried to team with other tailors. I had one who decided to become a DE then quit all together, another who is MIA, and the third is almost to master. He placed a vendor in my shop saying "Send emails to Ite for custom orders" since I am taking a break from that. It seems to be working, and I hope he stays in business with me when he hits master.

I havnt invited any other tailors to join since I think it requires a great deal of trust.

Also, someone is now selling master level tactical skinsuits for 3k on the bazaar. I also saw revealing fleshwraps for 3 k on the bazaar, and formal goqns for 500 credits.... And yes the item owner was the item creator so its the tailor doing that, not just someone cleaning out there closet. So my burnout stems from this unhealthy price war in addition to restocking vendors lol.

All I can say is if master level stuff now goes for 3k, I am gonna re-roll something more fun

Oh, I also restock accessories on a day other then my monday/friday restocks. Its just to much to make all the clothing AND pack/shoes/belts etc.

Yeah I hear ya about the pricing and other tailors who lower the profession by selling so cheaply. Someone complained that my Grand Healers Robe which I sold for 15k to him, told me other tailors could have made it for 5k. I spent 2 hours of MY time with this guy and then he tells me this. Pissed me off.

I spend a couple hours each day restocking my vendors, but I go to a friends house to craft because I just can't do it in the shop with customers there. I also use my AFK message to direct people with waypoint requests or questions to email me. Now that more masters are hitting our server, I no longer do custom orders unless I'm in the shop and send custombusiness to a couple other tailors I'm on good terms with. I keep my prices high because I learned early on an empty vendor isn't good for repeat business. Still, people will always complain about pricing and "So and So only charges..." emails and tells are the norm. I don't want all the tailoring business in the galxay, that'd be to much like a second job to me. I just want to log in, make clothes people will enjoy, ease my fix of killing rabid bunnies and log off having had fun. I think I do so well not because of my pricing but having such a wide selection to choose from in my vendors. Just find a quiet spot you can craft your vendor stock, get that well written AFK message upand let people know how often you do stock your vendors. People play at all different times and knowing when your vendor will be full and not wasting a travel ticket to visit you goes a long way to making happy repeat customers. ^_^

This is what annoys me. People demand that a MASTER make every item they own. To me, that is stupid.Why can't they buy the lower level items from lower level tailors? Wouldn't that make sense? Perhaps master tailors should stop making lower level items, period (unless part of an entire custom set) and refer those people to local lower level tailors. That would take a littel of the strain off the masters and allow the lower level tailors to profit. I'm not saying that master tailors need to hand off a lot of business as a general rule, but I think we need to educate the masses that if they want a plain old flex-form shirt, anyone with casual 2 will be able to do that.

I have 4 (soon to be 5) vendors separated by type of clothes ... Formal Wear ... Field Wear ... Packs/Cloaks/Accessories ... and Wookie Wear. I will make my next vendor just to be Master Tailor items since folks tend to want that specifically.

Having stuff separated like this really helps me see quickly what I need to restock.

Course at this point with factories broken ... I am out of everything from Synth Cloth to Jewel Settings ... *sigh*

Hmmmmm...I'm having no problems keeping my vendor stocked. Then again, my PA settled waaaaay out of town---it's probably about a 5-6 minute run out of Theed (which is what we wanted). But it means I don't get a lot of foot traffic.

Just as well--my lifestyle dictates that I can't take a lot of time for custom orders unless I happen to be right there (I have 4 kids & two still aren't school-age), so if I had to spend a lot of time with orders & vendors, I'd never sleep. Not that I sleep much anyway.

I think what I see happening as more tailors reach master on the servers is people specializing in one realm, whether it be wookiee wear, formal wear, or whatever....rather than spreading oneself thin by trying to make everything. Although I'll admit I enjoy dabbling with everything...when it works. LOL!
