Thread: Our question: ANSWERED!

Tailor: In response to our December top 5, the devs wrote: We are aware that items that have reached 0/0 condition are still equippable, it is not suppose to work this way. We consider this issue a priority for your profession and we are working to resolve it.

This issue is particularly problematic because completely decayed items not only are equippable but also still grant full bonuses from bioengineered panels or from skill tapes when equipped. In addition, there is a concern that if items become unequippable at 0/0, people will purposely try to "fail repairs" to get the item to 1/1 so it will never reach 0/0.

The Tailoring Community wants to know what steps have been taken to correct this problem, what additional progress still needs to be made, and when the bug fix will be patched in.

I’ve been pushing on this issue and it’s currently scheduled to be fixed in Publish 10.

Good news but there is only one little problem. When publish 10 goes live and all the people using decayed items will be up in arms about it. Then there will be a huge rush to their local tailors to get all new items made up for them. I can imagine that being a very busy time.

Ya know, seeing all those people nekked just makes me giggle. Maybe we can help them plan ahead Come on, this is a good thing! This is what we wanted! And I only had to arm twist a little to nail down a timeframe.

I don't know. My best guess is that the clothing will remain in inventory, and available for display, but will not be equippable.

Never having worn out a weapon or armor to 0 condition; what happens to those when they reach zero? Don't their stats decrease as their condition goes down? At what point do they become unequippable, if they do? Once they fix clothes, shouldn't they function the same way? Hmm. I must amend my ignorance on that feature. *goes off to grab the nearest armor-clad, gun-totin' combatant she sees*

edit afterthought: Oh! And great job NJ! Thanks for your hard work on this. *two thumbs up*

And yeah, everyone will be up in arms when they see decayed clothes won't equip or no longer function. Same as they (and we) were when death decay went in. Brace for impact, flames and future tweaking. But honestly, what did they expect? Clothing always was intended to decay, with or without mods and tapes in them. Armor does. Weapons do. Houses decay, harvesters, tools, vehicles, etc. Sheesh. Give us some lovin' too. They'll get used to it and get over it. Eventually. And maybe once clothes with tapes and BE tissues in them are no longer permanent, maybe, finally maybe, the astronomical prices for tissues and tapes will go down too. That is a good thing for everyone. We finally get repeat business and a major feature finally working as intended, and those who buy them and the tapes to go in them will see prices drop across the board. Leastways, it should work that way. Might take some adjustment time. Good ole player run economy.

When weapons reach a low condition the damage values (at least, perhaps other values as well) go haywire. I have an old DX2 I let drop below 25% that's stuck with the min higher than the max for damage. Eek!

When armor drops below a certain level (33%? 25%? Not sure) the resists begin to drop. At 0 condition the resists are 1/2 what they were. I haven't tested if it actually still blocks anything, but I don't think it does.
