Cause you get all the girls man!

I'm having so much fun with tailor lol. The other night some guy paid me 10k to make every female dancer in the bestine cantina (bloodfin) a swimsuit (hot pants and low-cut top)

I became a tailor because I just spent so many credits on clothes when I first started and figured I should just make them myself. I also visited Lumi's shop and Ay'Lish's website and was totally inspired. Now, I have been tailoring since October and I love it... I have lots of vendors and 2 shops that get sold out quicker than I can restock them! I love the interaction with other players and I get a kick out of others who get as excited about clothes as I do!

Looks nice, but, sheesh, 10k for 4 low-cut tops AND 4 hot pants?

Actually, that's pretty cheap... at least for Ahazi.

I sell low-cut tops for 3k each and that's sale price from 4000. Hot pants I sell for 500. So on Ahazi, it would have cost 12k.

Money isn't a problem for me at the moment I keep my prices rather low until I start getting a lot of buisness.

Since I made so many credits being a tailor and credits are no longer a big deal either, I try to keep my prices low...

But that in turn brings even more business! hehe

Lexiah, you missed my point (and actually it was 5 not 4, my bad). Low cut tops are master level items that require wooly hide. I don't want to start a pricing flame war or whatever, so not gonna reveal what I charge and whatnot, and I've done stuff like that when I'm goofing off too, cool, I'm sure it was fun and all that. But c'mon, what kind of guy comes up to a master tailor and asks them to make 10 separate items, 5 of them master level items, for 10k? And then the tailor is happy to accomodate this request?

Ok, so what was your point? I'm not flamming here- I ask that seriously...It sounded like you thought that was expensive.

Okay, so let's see, where's my price list...

On TC, where the economy is supposedly "depressed" we charge $2000 for the low cut top and $1000 for the hawtpants, which would bring the total to 15k for 5 outfits.

As for how we arrived at these figures, it's a straight CPU with higher CPU for wooly (rounded all to the nearest 250 credits), but no premium for master level items. The theory behind no premium for master items: we would ALSO want to put a premium on the low level items because master items and low-level items take the same amount of TIME (to make a fleshwrap versus a pair of shorts), and we didn't want to be selling our time for chump change just because the customer happened to want a low level outfit. And it's way too complicated to charge flat fee per item just for the time taken to make it, and then a cpu value on top of that, and then a premium for master... blah blah.

Credit to Syzygy for mapping out the list Me no math good.

EDIT: and Arthur, I want to know what you charge! Fess up!

*whispers* Master level doesn't mean you should charge more for it—in fact, you'll make money doing exactly the opposite. Now, before you get mad, hear me out. I used to use a tier-based multiplier…and I did okay. But if you get rid of the multiplier and drop the price of Master level items by just a bit (from where they were when using the multiplier—in other words, jack the CPU cost way up)you end up making a lot more on the lower-level items…which is really where most of our (or, at least, my) sales are. See, people won't realize you're charging 15+CPU when all they look at is that a Fleshwrap is Xcr, 'cause they're used to seeing a markup for it, and it won't occur to them that everything has been marked up. (I really wish I could take credit for that revelation, but alas I can't…works really, really well though)

wow, thats great! I buy it for up to 5 cpu which used to bother me until someone put it into perspective for me once...

I didn't complain about paying 2cpu for resources where someone plopped a harvertor down to get, however, I was complaining about paying 5cpu for wooly hide that took someone a long time hunting to get. I didn;t mind paying 5cpu after that.

But 1cpu, that would be awesome. I try to harvest the hide on my alt when I hunt, but most of the time the animals disappear by the time I am ready to harvest the hide.
