Thread: STILL no YELLOW in our 55 colors! We're missing a primary color!

What happened here? the colors are great, but we're still missing a primary color! Does Yellow not exist in the star wars universe? Then where did all the greens come from?

There's still schematics with Bright Yellow as a default color, but we can't make them that way (ribbed shirts)!

(ps. I posted a similar post a minute ago, but it seems to have gotten stuck in post limbo. If it shows up, forgive the repitition.)

No pure white either, it's either greenish (very very very light green) or pinkish (very very light pink).

And I still can't believe I can't make red boots, I got asked for them 3 times today

As nice as it would be to have a Bright Yellow, a True White, or a Real Black, I don't imagine these are a high priority. Unfortunately, it seems that clothes are a low priority, probably because they don't actually DO anything. A bug in weapons is noticable, and might gate a profession. Bugs in armor can prevent their use, or might make them way better than they should be, allowing exploits. But not being able to get that perfect yellow, or not getting the right shade of red boots, isn't going to seriously damage a player's abilities.

Well, despite what some are saying about what colors "they" can get, we're all getting exactly the same ones, and the original poster is right. There is no primary, bright yellow. Also no pure black, which can be frustrating. The decay nerf has got many of us all feeling powerless and ignored, but as long as we're not quitting the game, we might as well keep pushing for the profession to be fixed, and that includes putting basic colors into the palette.

hehehe Yellow is not a primary color! I'm pretty sure they are using an RGB color scale not CYM. Also if you wanted a pure black or pure white or bright yellow they would have to go in and edit the existing color lookup table as they only allow for 256 colors. So if you wanted new colors, you would lose old ones.

Yellow is a primary color. There are only three primary colors in the known universe. They are yellow, blue and red. If you mix these colors you are able to create any color known. White is the absence of color, black is every color 100%.

What the problem may be is that yellow is very difficult to render when you have lighting affects coming into play. So for clothing, where the movement is constantly changing the way the light hits the article, it can be a big nightmare and yellow would look much like it does now, very washed out. Yes, it sucks.

There is a pure white and a pure black. I have used them several times. On several textural items, the white may " appear" darker, but they way I see it, it is necessary to continue to appear textural. Texture is about tone and value of that tone. There are also a very dark military green ( top line) that will appear to be the blackest black to notive tailors. If you examine it, it does in fact have a green cast that players notice. The only decent yellow I can find on the new full pallete is the lightest tone on one of the orange/red bars. On most items it looks fine. I am still scratching my head about the second "hot" red color. Barely different than the previous one.

Actually, when dealing with lights, yellow is not a primary colour. There are three primary colours of light. These are red, green, and blue. If you mix these you are able to create any other colour. Black is the absence of light, and white is every colour together. Oh, and yellow is red + green.

indeed...but the problem is:

Yellow and blue make green. Unless its in the examine window, then it's hunter green. Viewed under torchlight, it's kelly green. Viewed by personal light, it's olive green. Viewed in the crafting color selection window, it's forest green.

That doesnt even bring gamma into play. =)
